Injury in Apparent Road Rage Incident
On August 12, 2017, units with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office were dispatched to intersection of Buckminster and Atherstone in southern Montgomery County. Upon arrival it was learned that an adult female had been struck by a motor vehicle at that location.
According to witnesses, the injured female was operating a motor vehicle and was stopped at the intersection when another vehicle approached the intersection and apparently failed to yield completely to the victim. At this time the victim stopped her vehicle and along with a male companion exited the vehicle and confronted the other driver, a juvenile female.
Investigators are still working through details, but it appears that at some point the male may have thrown an object at the juvenile driver. The juvenile attempted to leave the location when she struck the victim. The victim sustained several non life threatening injuries and was transported via EMS to a local hospital.
The juvenile driver did not attempt to flee, and called 911 for the victim.
Due to the conflicting witness statements the case has been referred to the Montgomery County Attorney’s Office for determination on charges.
