Insperity Invitational and SUCCESS to Deliver Thrilling Golf Experience for Kids with a Disability

PGA TOUR Champions players will team up with the SUCCESS Golf Program (Students Undertaking Challenging Courses Ensuring Development of Sportsmanship and Skill) to deliver a thrilling golf experience for a group of Houston children with a disability on Tuesday.

The kids will play a portable nine-hole outdoor golf course that will be set up on the driving range at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course at 10:30 a.m. while interacting with PGA TOUR Champions professionals.

SUCCESS Golf, part of the Be An Angel Foundation (www.beanangel.org), is designed to help children with special needs develop fine motor skills and muscle control as they focus on learning golf. The program focuses on teaching the game of a lifetime to children who would not otherwise be able to participate in a sport or hobby. Early training in the game increases the chances that once these children with multiple impairments become adults, they will have a lifelong activity to participate in and enjoy.

Whiskey & War Stories

Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey Story

Much of our brotherhood was forged in fire during the first days after the 9/11 attacks. Immediately following this affront on our nation, the USA responded with a daring insertion of small teams of Green Berets into northern Afghanistan. The Northern Alliance successfully overthrew Mazar-i-Sharif, a Taliban stronghold, with the support of these brave men. This region’s inhospitable, mountainous terrain made efforts and enemy engagements on wild Afghan horses a necessity for one Special Operations team (ODA595). Nicknamed the “Horse Soldiers”, all these brave men are honored today by America’s Response Monument overlooking “Ground Zero” in New York City.

Their story inspired a book, a move and American Freedom Distillery which produces the award-winning Horse Soldier Bourbon. The New York City Port Authority donated steel recovered from the World Trade Center after 9/11 to the team. Each bottle of Horse Soldier is formed in molds of this steel to honor the spirit of resilience and service that arose after the attack on our nation.

Whiskey & War Stories is a Horse Soldier event that will take place on Monday, April 25 at The Woodlands Country Club Tournament Course. It takes attendees from the initial days after 9/11 to adventures today working together to build a great all-American company and great bourbon whiskey.

Attendees will enjoy dinner, sample Horse Soldiers signature bourbon whiskeys and have the honor of listening to first hand accounts from Will Summers and Bob Pennington, two of the Horse Soldiers. Each attendee will receive a signed bottle of Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey.
