Labor day is the dedicated day to celebrate and enjoy time with family and friends, in honor of America’s hard work keeping our country prosperous. The upcoming three-day weekend is full of fun activities right here in The Woodlands!

Celebrate Labor Day at Waterway Square – Relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor at Waterway Square on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 4:00 to 9 p.m. with live music, children’s activities, strolling entertainers, food trucks and fireworks. There will be a Kid Zone with free crafts while supplies last and complimentary face paining and balloon art. Learn more

Riva Row Boathouse – There are many options to experience The Woodlands by water at the Riva Row Boathouse. This will be the perfect time to rent one of the brand new swan-shaped boats. Also available are single or tandem kayaks and paddle boards. Life jackets included in each rental. Dogs are welcome, and there are even dog life jackets available. The Boathouse will be open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Learn More

Mobike Rental – Head over to Town Center to ride around The Woodlands on one of the new Mobikes. Users may ride the bikes any distance in The Woodlands, but bikes must be returned to an area within the boundaries defined on the service map at the end of use. After reaching their destination within The Woodlands Township Town Center limits, users manually lock the bike, which automatically makes the bike available to the next rider. Learn More

The Woodlands Car Club Cars & Coffee for a Cause – The Woodlands Car Club is and has been a big proponent in raising awareness and funds for local non-profit organizations in Montgomery County since 2001. Come out and “show off” or admire and support the Change for Charity program. Learn More

Grogan’s Mill Farmer’s Market – Every Saturday in The Woodlands, the Grogan’s Mill Farmer’s Market hosts local vendors of food, global fare, and natural beauty products. The Market was established in 2008 as a weekly community event sponsored by the Grogan’s Mill Village Association. The Market is open Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Grogan’s Mill Center. Learn More

Glade Cultural Center – Take the family to enjoy fine art at the Glade Cultural Center. The Center will be open Saturday and is currently exhibiting art from artists living as close as The Woodlands to as far as China and the Middle East. Learn More

Emergent VR Encounter– Emergent VR (Virtual Reality) Encounter is a high-tech gaming lounge that has something for everyone, from traditional video games to Google Maps-based virtual reality where guests can travel the world. Each station comes fully equipped with all gear necessary to become completely immersed the experience. There is an additional viewing monitor at each station to allow all members of each party to view the VR world. Open Tuesday through Sunday, closed Monday. Learn More

 

 

YMCA Labor Day Family Camp – Spend quality time with the family, while enjoying a fun and relaxing time at YMCA Camp Cullen’s Family Camp from August 31 – September 3. Families will be assigned their own private cabin and all meals will be provided in the dining hall. There will be banana boating, the Wet Willy waterslide and a family picnic complete with lawn games, an obstacles course and sack races. Horseback riding will be available for an additional charge. Learn More

Houston Restaurant Weeks – Enjoy the last week of Houston Restaurant Weeks at participating restaurants in The Woodlands. The month long dining extravaganza, wrapping up September 3, features specially priced lunches, brunches and dinners at select restaurants. Houston Restaurant Weeks is the largest annual fundraiser for the Houston Food Bank, which donates funds locally to the Montgomery County Food Bank. The Woodlands Children’s Museum – Generally closed on Mondays, The Woodlands Children’s Museum will be open Monday, September 2. All weekend there will be activities, including the regularly scheduled Storybook Theatre, Lego-ology, and an appearance by Monty the Magician. Learn More

The Woodlands Kiwanis’ 34th Annual Kids’ Fishing Tournament –  Kids from toddlers to teenagers are welcome to try their hand at fishing September 1st at Creekwood Park. There will be free food, free drinks, and free bait and trophies for all! Registration begins a 7:00 a.m. and fishing begins at 8:00 a.m. Just bring a rod, reel, and chairs to enjoy a day of fishing with the family. Learn More
