Local Fall Festivals 2019

Festival season is here so be sure to plan for these fun events celebrating fall. There is something for everyone including BBQ, wine, music, art, crafts, antiques, Halloween-themed events and more!


The Texas Renaissance Festival – The Texas Renaissance Festival is the nation’s largest and most acclaimed Renaissance theme park where the sights, sounds, tastes and beauty of the 16th Century come alive for eight magically-themed weekends. The festival welcomes more than half a million guests annually and features nearly 500 costumed performers on 17 stages; 400 shoppes including international food purveyors, unique artisans, merchants and craft vendors; human-powered rides; an abundance of strolling performers and the Royal Fireworks display at dusk. The festival is held Saturdays, Sundays and Thanksgiving Friday. For the ultimate fall festival, head over opening weekend, October 5 & 6, for Oktoberfest!

Oak Ridge North Fall Festival – The City of Oak Ridge North will be hosting its 6th Annual Fall Festival on October 5th from 10:00 am – 3:00 p.m. in Marilyn Edgar Park. Don’t miss this free, fun, family event! There will be a pumpkin patch, food, face painting, and much more.

P6 Farms Fall Festival & Pumpkin Patch – Fall farm fun is just down the road at P6 Farms in Montgomery. The festival includes a you-pick pumpkin patch and you-pick flowers, a corn maze, farm animals, pig races, roller coaster, cow train ride, candy cannon, amusement rides, and festival foods.

Texas Wine & Art Festival –  October is Texas Wine Month so come out to Old Town Spring and enjoy great Texas wine and original art at the Fall Texas Wine and Art Festival. Taste wines from around the great Lone Star State and view great original art by talented Texas artists. Grab a glass of wine, stroll along the beautiful tree-lined streets and visit any of the 150 quaint shops.The Fall Texas Wine and Art Festival will take place in Historic Old Town Spring.

Fall Bazaar and Car Show – There is something for every member of the family to enjoy from custom jewelry, spicy pickles, homemade quilts, local honey, beautiful decor, prizes, and so much more. The Car Show features cars of all types – vintage, muscle, sports cars, and super cars. Food is available and admission is free! All proceeds go to youth and mission ministries.

Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival – The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival, now in its 30th year, is held the 2nd weekend of October each year in historic downtown Conroe. The family-friendly event features non-stop live music with local, regional and national performers on three stages, food vendors offering festival and Cajun favorites, arts & crafts vendors, a professional carnival, assorted community and educational exhibits, an annual Catfish Pageant and a KidZone area with activities for children and a special performance stage featuring local dance teams, community groups and entertainers. The Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival is a cultural program of the Friends of Conroe, Inc., a non-profit community organization dedicated to furthering the common welfare and well-being of the city of Conroe, Texas. The group sponsors and produces the festival each year.

OctoBEARfest – OctoBEARFest is Bears Etc.’s largest fundraiser of the year. Shopping in the vendor area, being a kid again with “adult sized” kids’ games in the kids area, having a team in the non-motorized lawn mower races, and participating, or eating from, the BBQ cook-off are all part of the fun this event has to offer!

Tomball Corn Maze Fall Festival – The corn maze is hosting a fall festival with good old-fashioned fall-themed games, activities, and food.

  • Hours: Noon to 6:00 p.m.

Halloween at the Y – Put your costumes on, gather your friends and family, and join us at The Woodlands Family YMCA for the annual Halloween at the Y Trunk or Treat event. Outdoor activities will include trunk-or-treating, carnival games, a sweet tooth walk, a photo booth, face art, mascots and much more frightful fun. In lieu of an admission fee, each guest is asked to bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry.

Woodforest Craft Fest – Country music artist Curtis Grimes and Acid Funk-Soulgrass Americana band Chubby Knuckle Choir will perform at the annual brewfest held at Christine Allen Nature Park from noon to 5:00 p.m. ​There will be samples from 30+ craft breweries and a market with more than 20 vendors and plenty for the kids to do — a giant slide, and face painting. ​There is a $25 entry fee for ages 21+ and $10 for those under 21. Firefighters are admitted FREE.

Festival of the Wolves – Come visit the pack during St. Francis Wolf Sanctuary’s fall “Festival of the Wolves” Open House. There will be Keeper Chats and enrichment activities involving resident animals, a silent auction, bake sale, bounce house, face painting, games for kids, area food trucks, and local vendors. Festival will be held rain or shine. St. Francis Wolf Sanctuary will be celebrating 17 years of providing rescued wolves and wolfdogs with a loving home and a second chance at life.

Community Fall Festival – Join Christ Community School for its annual Fall Festival, featuring games, raffles, face painting, and children’s activities.

  • Date: October 19

  • Hours: 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The Woodlands Fall Market & Fair – This free event offers a great lineup of shopping food, craft and vendor booths, and a pumpkin patch. Children’s activities are set for 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

4th Annual Freight Train Food Truck Festival – Enjoy food from 20 rolling gourmet kitchens spread around Tomball’s historic downtown Railroad Depot. Performing are Folk Family Revival and Mambo Jazz Kings.

Fall Extravaganza – Ghosts and ghouls, princesses and butterflies, clowns and cowboys abound at East Montgomery County Improvement District’s annual Fall Extravaganza! Head on over to this free event for pumpkins, a costume contest, and candy!

Indian Springs Taste of the Village – In addition to sampling tasty treats from a variety of food vendors and visiting 40 booths of local businesses and community organizations, families are sure to be entertained. Entertainment includes a live band, inflatables, face painting, balloon artistry, and many walking entertainers for the kids. There will also be a raffle for two $250 gift certificates from HEB and a variety of other gift cards and prizes.

The Tomball Bluegrass Festival – The 8th Annual Tomball Bluegrass Festival will feature live performances of American roots music from The Lone Star Bluegrass Band, The Coleman Brothers, and Travers Chandler & Avery County on the Depot stage. There’s a “Shade Tree Jam” for pickers and grinners to sit back under the trees and join in with other musicians, food and merchandise vendors, and a kids’ zone, too.

Cochran’s Crossing Fall Festival – The Cochran’s Crossing Village Association invites everyone to an afternoon of fun at Shadowbend Park. Enjoy food, vendors, bounce houses, games, and prizes. Admission is free!

Pumpkin Jam Fall Festival – This free, family friendly event features a video game truck, live music, games, prizes, bounce houses, activities for all family members, and so much more. FREE food for the first 500 people. Please bring a canned good for families in need. Additional parking is available at Bear Branch Elementary.

Panther Creek Fall Festival – The 4th Annual North Panther Creek Fall Festival invites neighbors to join its family friendly fall festival.

  • Hours: 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Bark in the Park – Grand Central Park’s 3rd Annual Bark in the Park is free and open to the public with registration required. Families also will enjoy food truck fare for purchase, kids activities, booths featuring pet vendors, a dog costume contest, and Frisbee-catching performances by the Houston Disc Dogs with shows starting at 10:15 a.m. and noon.

5th Annual Tomball Texas Wine Festival – Head to Tomball for Texas wine, Texas beers and Texas music! Try hand wine from selected Texas wineries that will be on-site, along with local breweries, live music, and food vendors. The wine fest will take place in Downtown Tomball in front of the Depot (across from The Empty Glass).

3R Bazaar at The Woodlands Farmer’s Market – Celebrate America Recycles Day and explore the 3R Bazaar at its NEW LOCATION at The Woodlands Farmer’s Market at Grogan’s Mill. Enjoy live music, play games, and shop recycled goods. Document shredding is available for $5 or 5 canned food donations to benefit Interfaith of The Woodlands Food Pantry (limited capacity- first come, first served). Free recycling opportunities include batteries, overly worn clothing, shoes and linens that are unable to be donated, oral care products, and eyeglasses.

The Children’s Festival – The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is transforming into a giant playground for the 24th Annual Children’s Festival and the whole neighborhood is invited to hop on board! With performers on multiple stages, character meet and greets, a special toddler area just for the youngest festival goers, arts and crafts, hands-on activities and exciting active adventures, there’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy along this epic journey around the venue.
