Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber to host Lotería Night at Conroe’s Incredible Pizza

The Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber is set to host Lotería Night on April 2, 2024 at Conroe’s Incredible Pizza.

Attendees can expect a fun family friendly night of playing the traditional Mexican game Lotería, while having endless salad, pizza, and everything else that Conroe’s Incredible Pizza offers on their menu. The event will commence at 5:30 p.m. with a short program.

“This event was a lot of fun last year, to see so many want to participate in a popular Mexican tradition like lotería is fun to both watch and be a part of. We appreciate Mario and his team at Conroe’s Incredible Pizza for making us feel very welcomed again this year,” says Miguel Lopez, President for the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber.

Lotería, which is Spanish for lottery, is often referred to as Mexican bingo. Unlike bingo, where numbers are called out, lotería utilizes colorful illustrated cards depicting the Mexican aesthetic replacing bingo balls. Yes, it is a game of chance. Not much strategy is needed (none actually). It’s not just that lotería has become more visible in the U.S., but it’s also become more accessible which matches the growth of the Mexican population in the area. Lotería is a game, but to the non-Spanish speaker the fact the cards are in Spanish also makes it a fun way to learn a little bit of Spanish.
