Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office investigates shooting, two lives lost in Magnolia 

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting a thorough investigation into a tragic incident that occurred in Magnolia on January 26, 2024. At approximately 9:10 a.m., our Deputies responded to a welfare concern at a residence in the Northgrove Subdivision. Regrettably, upon their arrival, they discovered the deceased bodies of a male and a female, both of whom had succumbed to apparent gunshot wounds. The weapon was recovered at the scene, and there is no known threat to the community. 

Our Homicide and Violent Crimes Detectives, along with Crime Scene Investigators, are diligently working to piece together the details surrounding this incident. We understand the impact that this loss has on the family of those involved and the community as a whole. 

Based on the preliminary findings, this appears to be a domestic situation that resulted in the death of both parties. Our primary focus is to ensure the safety of all and to provide a comprehensive, compassionate investigation for the family members devastated by this tragedy. 

Out of utmost respect for the grieving family and to allow for the proper notification of next of kin, we will not be disclosing the names of the deceased individuals at this time. We recognize the sensitivity of this complex situation and will provide updates on our investigation as appropriate. We ask for the community’s understanding, privacy, and support for the family involved during this difficult time.
