Schools close Friday, May 3 across Montgomery County

The following schools and school district campuses will be closed on Friday, May 3, 2024 (as of 5:24 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024).

SCHOOL CLOSURES

Conroe ISD: All Conroe ISD schools will be closed on Friday, May 3, due to the anticipated conditions following the release of water from Lake Conroe, the aftermath of Thursday’s heavy rain and flash flooding, and the uncertain weather forecast overnight and tomorrow morning.

While all school-sponsored after-school activities are canceled, UIL baseball and softball games may still be played. The Conroe High School Prom on Friday, May 3, and the Caney Creek High School Prom on Saturday, May, will still take place as scheduled.

Magnolia ISD: “Due to more rainfall expected this evening, Magnolia ISD will be closed on Friday, May 3. Additional updates will be shared on the district website, social media, and through our mass notification system. Stay Safe.”

Montgomery ISD: “After consulting with local officials due to rainfall experienced today and the uncertainty of the overnight forecast, Montgomery ISD will be CLOSED tomorrow, Friday, May 3, and all in-district activities for tomorrow are canceled.”

Willis ISD: “Willis iSD schools and offices will remain closed tomorrow, Friday, May 3. This decision was made among area emergency management officials and local superintendents as a county-wide decision. Please stay safe and dry! We will see you on Monday.”

The John Cooper School: “School canceled Friday, May 3. All after-school activities cancelled May 2.”

The Woodlands Christian Academy: “Due to weather conditions, the school will be closed on Friday, May 3, 2024.”

The Woodlands Methodist School: “The Woodlands Methodist School will follow the direction of CISD and will be closed all day tomorrow.”
