Star Wars Themed Ball honors Chamber’s Chairman

The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the 40th Annual Chairman’s Ball May The Force Be With You and Beyond presented by Sam Houston State University on Saturday, August 18.

The Chairman’s Ball honored the outgoing 2017-2018 Chairman of the Board, Frank Holmes of Sam Houston State University, while celebrating the accomplishments of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce.

This year’s Chairman’s Ball team leaders were James Ketchum of Leger Ketchum and Cohoon PLLC. and Hanna Pollet of Abercrombie & Associates P.C. The planning committee of Chamber volunteers went above and beyond as The Woodlands Waterway Marriott & Conference Center was filled with spectacular Star Wars themed decorations, music, dancing, and even a special light saber battle.

Guests dressed in elaborate Star Wars costumes or black tie attire and enjoyed an evening that included a cocktail reception with “Choose Your Side” specialty drinks, a welcome from the team leaders, three course dinner including a Galactic Planetary Dome dessert, a special program honoring Chairman Frank Holmes, and the announcement of winning tabletop decorators and best costumes. The evening concluded with music and dancing by JD Entertainment.

The 40th Annual Chairman’s Ball was themed “Star Wars: May the Force be with You and Beyond.” The black-tie affair honored the outgoing Chairman of the Board, Frank Holmes of Sam Houston State University, while celebrating the accomplishments of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce.
