Texas Children’s Hospital Joins Mardi Gras Fun with Parade and Celebration

Texas Children’s Hospital patients got a taste of the New Orleans spirit with lots of Mardi Gras-themed fun. A massive parade was thrown by our Child Life department, complete with handmade floats, funny outfits, music, lots of beads and goodies, and of course, therapy dog Bailey leading the charge on her very own float.

Cancer and hematology patients enjoyed a special delivery – Common Bond and Sky High for Kids donated more than 200 individual king cake kits for patients to decorate. Patients also had the opportunity to attend a Mardi Gras party in our Child Life Zone. They were able to decorate their own masks while enjoying live music from our Music Therapists.
