Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office hosts Vehicular Crimes Awards

Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office hosted the 2024 Vehicular Crimes Awards ceremony on February 13, 2025 to recognize those individuals and organizations who endeavored to make our roadways safer, strived to achieve justice for victims, and made exceptional contributions to the fight against dangerous and impaired driving during the preceding year.

District Attorney Brett Ligon welcomed all in attendance and Chief Prosecuter Taylor Vanegas presented the following 2024 Vehicular Crimes Awards.

  • Exemplary DWI Officers:
    • Officer Stephen Carni, Conroe PD
    • Officer Zachary Castanon, Oak Ridge North PD
    • Officer Ronnie Culberth, Splendora PD
    • Deputy Dustin Gaona, Pct. 2 Constable
    • Officer Justan Habhab, Magnolia PD
    • Deputy Saul Mendez, Pct. 4 Constable
  • Officer of the Year: Deputy Joseph O’Neill, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office
  • Agency of the Year: Montgomery County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office
  • Investigators of the Year: Game Wardens Brannon Meinkowsky & Patricia Vannoy, Texas Parks & Wildlife
  • Public Service Award: Susan Martin, The Woodlands Township

The program for the awards ceremony stated, “The dedication and diligence of this year’s recipients makes our county a better and safer place to live each and every day. For this they deserve our sincerest and deepest gratitude. Thank you from all of us at the District Attorney’s Office.”
