The Chevron Championship begins Thursday, April 24 in The Woodlands
The 54th official playing of The Chevron Championship and the third year for the tournament at The Club at Carlton Woods will take place this Thursday, April 24 through Sunday, April 27. Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No.1, Nelly Korda, headlines the field this week as the LPGA Tour tees it up for their first major championship of the 2025 season. The 132-player field, highlighted by 10 of the top 10 in the Rolex Women’s World Rankings, will compete for a $8 million purse.
Today Nelly Korda, Rolex Rankings No. 1, was asked how she plans to keep the same momentum from last year to this year. “I would say last year is last year. This is a brand-new year. What I achieved last year no one can take that from me. That’s always going to be such a great memory, but it’s a fresh week and fresh mindset. I just have to kind of put that aside, what I did last year, and know that the golf course could be playing different. It’s a different field. So going out there and preparing, you know, the best that I possibly can, control what I can control, give it my all is all that I can really do.”
Rolex Rankings No. 2, Jeeno Thitikul, is seeking her first major championship title and shared whether that is a stressful goal. “I would see that as like a challenging things. Like one challenge to do. I’m not saying it’s like stressful much because I know I’m still young and a lot of opportunity will come forward. I just answer myself if I’m not winning any major till I retire, if I going to be regret or I’m going to be sad about that, I would say I’m not. I’m thinking all the things that I have been doing out here on the Tour, I have done enough, and then I give it all 100% and I just let it be more natural. If I get it, I’ll get it. If not, it’s just more things to do, more than life, more than golf.”
Girls Golf ambassador Madeline Sagstrom shared advice she gives to young girls, stating, “I always say the biggest thing is to have fun with it. I think a lot of kids and a lot of parents probably take the game a little bit too seriously a little bit too quickly. Golf is such a wonderful sport. You have so many chances to build great relationships for life. And then from my own perspective I always tell people don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re going to have good days and bad days. I was very hard on myself as a kid. Probably one of the reasons I still sit here. Just have fun with it and find some good friends and enjoy the ride, because it’s a lovely game.”

Current World No. 1 Nelly Korda looks to defend her title from last year when she tees off at 8:32 a.m. CDT. Korda would be the first woman to repeat at The Chevron Championship since Annika Sorenstam won in 2001 and 2002.
A pair of LPGA stars have a chance to complete the Career Grand Slam with a win this weekend: In Gee Chun and Anna Nordqvist. If either woman wins this weekend, she would become the eighth LPGA player to complete the Career Grand Slam, and the first since Inbee Park did so in 2015.
The tournament will open its gates to spectators on Thursday morning at 7 a.m. CDT. All spectator parking will be located at the Woodloch Forest Garage located at 10201 Woodloch Forest Dr, The Woodlands, TX. Frequent buses will be provided for the short shuttle ride to and from the golf course. There will be no parking available on-site for ticket holders.
Chevron has committed to donate $5 from every general admission ticket sold to support Woodlands-area teachers through its Fuel Your School initiative. For each ticket sold, Chevron will donate $5 to DonorsChoose, a nationwide nonprofit organization that will use Chevron’s donations to fund classroom project requests from eligible schools in The Woodlands, Montgomery and Spring, Texas. Since 2010, Chevron has collaborated with DonorsChoose to support over 42,000 teachers in the communities where it operates, bringing over $60 million of resources to the communities that it serves.
