Dr. Ann Snyder announces Final Term on The Woodlands Township Board
Dr. Ann K. Snyder, Immediate Past Chair of The Woodlands Township, has announced her final term on the Township Board of Directors. Dr. Snyder confirmed in a media release her decision not to seek re-election to a sixth term on the Board when her current term expires in November 2025.
“Firstly, I want to emphasize how much I love The Woodlands,” stated Dr. Snyder. “During my tenure on the Township Board, I have always been a strong believer of doing what is right for the sustainability of our Hometown, and we have seen exciting growth in numerous projects. My decision to retire from this public service position was not an easy one, but it is the right direction for my family and for me. I know that I leave the Township in capable hands.”

Throughout her 36-year tenure in The Woodlands, Dr. Snyder has impacted the lives of countless people and multiple nonprofits, always striving to make a positive difference. She has dedicated her careers to enhancing the quality of community life through both her professional roles and her volunteer work, making significant contributions to public safety, conservative fiscal management, community relations, economic development and quality government.
“From her years on the Conroe ISD Board, to her years as CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands, to her roles as Executive Director of Generosity and Head of Schools at The Woodlands Methodist Church, to her time on The Woodlands Township Board, Ann has been the definition of a servant leader,” said Nelda Luce Blair, The Woodlands Township’s Founding Chair. “Not only is she a dear friend, but one of the most tenacious yet diplomatic people I have ever known. Those qualities have been the trademark of her successes in building our community. The Township Board will not be the same without Ann.”
With unwavering commitment to public service, Dr. Snyder assures her continued support of the community once her Township Board service concludes. She retains several key Board posts, including Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital serving as Chairman of its Board of Trustees, Conroe ISD Education Foundation Board, and Interfaith and Montgomery County Food Bank Advisory Boards, as well as multiple consultative positions. “Ann’s impact on The Woodlands has been extraordinary,” noted Eliecer Viamontes, President and CEO of Entergy Texas. “She leads with heart, brings people together, and always puts the community first. Her service may be shifting, but her influence will continue, and she’ll remain at the top of my call list not only for her advice but as a friend.”
Reflecting her heart for The Woodlands, Dr. Snyder has been the recipient of many honors for her years of service and dedication, including Hometown Hero, Woman of Distinction, People of the Year, Citizen of the Year, Rotary International Service Above Self, Rotary The Woodlands Paul Harris Award and Hall of Fame, Trailblazer Award, Junior League Visionary and Drum Major Award. She has twice served as the Grand Marshal for The Woodlands 4th of July Parade, most recently in 2025. Among her most cherished tributes was the naming of Conroe ISD’s Ann K. Snyder Elementary School in her honor.
Dr. Ann Snyder and her husband, Jerry, have two amazing adult children and their spouses, and six very special grandchildren, all of whom call The Woodlands home. Dr. Snyder’s final Township Board meeting will be Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
