Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber and Lone Star College-Montgomery collaborate for Conexión initiative
The Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber (MCHC) is proud to announce a collaborative effort with Lone Star College-Montgomery (LSC-Montgomery).
MCHC and LSC-Montgomery recently signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding), they have come together to assist in connecting college students with mentorship, internships, and professional development that will prepare them for successful careers. The Conexión group is a collaborative space where students can meet and learn from local professionals, entrepreneurs, to build meaningful relationships. The group focuses on strengthening bridges within the community through networking, open dialogue, and intentional partnership.

Miguel Lopez, MCHC President, states “This, conexión, will open pathways for students by pairing them with mentors, internships, and professional development that fuel both their growth and our local economy.”
Dr. Juan Lebron, Interim, VP of Student Success, said, “This collaboration represents a crucial stride in expanding opportunities for our students and reinforcing the connection between the college and the local business community. We are especially excited to see one of our students, Geoffrey ‘Geo’ Kearny, serve as the Student Program Leader. We are grateful to MCHC for their vision, collaboration, and commitment to supporting student success, and we look forward to the impact the partnership will have on students and the broader community we serve.”

The board liaison for the Conexión initiative is MCHC Chair and JPMorgan Chase commercial banker, Chris Hoffman shared, “Our partnership is rooted in a simple belief: when we invest in young talent at the grassroots level, the entire community rises. This collaboration between Lone Star College and the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber creates a vital connection between the business and academic communities, ensuring that students not only gain knowledge, but real pathways into careers, mentorship, and leadership.”
The Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber, established in 2003, is a 501c(6) non-profit organization. The purpose of the MCHC is to advance the growth, success, and prosperity of the Hispanic Community.
