May 1–31, 2026 – Coach Deon May Basketball Programs in The Woodlands – Coach Deon Basketball’s May programs in The Woodlands focus on structured development, consistent teaching, and building real confidence through repetition and clear instruction. As players continue progressing, May classes emphasize refining fundamentals and applying skills with greater control and understanding. May offerings include the Fundamentals First – Finishing and Footwork Foundation Class and Shooting Foundations: Rhythm & Flow, both designed to help players improve balance, coordination, shot rhythm, and finishing ability around the basket. Each class follows a structured teaching approach that allows players to build confidence through consistent reps and clear expectations. May 2026 – National Bike Month – May is National Bike Month and The Woodlands Township proudly recognizes this annual celebration with a wide range of activities that promote bicycling as a healthy, safe, and enjoyable way to travel and recreate. With support from the Bike The Woodlands Coalition, Bike Month in The Woodlands features a variety of events and programs designed for all ages and skill levels, from beginners to experienced riders. Participants who register for one or more events will receive a special Bike Month commemorative shirt! Shirts will be available for pickup on a first-come, first-served basis at the Bike The Woodlands Day event on Saturday 5/16. Learn More
May 1, 2026 – Women of Distinction Luncheon – The 2026 Women of Distinction luncheon honors the amazing women in our community who contribute their time, talents and treasures to local non-profit organizations. May 2, 2026 – Great Texas Birding Classic – The Great Texas Birding Classic is an annual competition held across Texas to determine which team can identify and count the most birds during a specific window of time. This is the biggest birdwatching tournament in the state and this year The Woodlands Township has a registered team! The Township team is competing in the ‘Big Sit’ category and will be at The Lookout Bird blind at the George Mitchell Nature Preserve on Saturday, May 2, from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. documenting as many birds as they can see and hear. May 2, 2026 – ReadyWoodlands Emergency Preparedness Event – Join The Woodlands Township for the ReadyWoodlands emergency preparedness event – a free, family-friendly experience that makes safety skills fun and easy to learn. The event will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Woodlands Township Townhall, 2801 Technology Forest Blvd. Things to experience this year at ReadyWoodlands: Large Fire Safety House, Fire Extinguisher Simulator, Dispatch will assist with a simulated 9-1-1, Public Safety agencies’ vehicles, Kids Scavenger Hunt, Interactive Activities, Prizes, Presentations and more! May 3, 2026 –The Woodlands Cars & Coffee for a Cause – The Woodlands Car Club car enthusiasts gather at Market Street the first Sunday of each month from 6-10 a.m. to provide a fun and creative way to give back to our community. All types of cars/vehicles from classics, hot rods, exotics, and more are welcome. The Woodlands Car Club shares information about needful non-profit organizations in Montgomery County, and gives back through donations to the Market Street “Change for Charities” program. Learn More
May 3, 2026 – Derby Day Mahjong Soirée – Get ready for a rollicking Kentucky Derby–themed Mahjong party at Haven by The Refuge in The Woodlands, TX! May 16, 2026 – Bike The Woodlands Day – Mark your calendars for Bike Month’s biggest event: The Woodlands Township’s annual Bike The Woodlands Day celebration! Whether you bike, walk, or drive, join us in beautiful Village of Creekside Park for a celebration of all things cycling. Meet local bike experts and enthusiasts, whether your passion is mountain biking, triathlon bikes, hybrids, or cruisers. To attend this event, ride or drive to Rob Fleming Recreation Center and look for the tents set up in the parking lot. True to the spirit of Bike Month, there’s no better way to celebrate than by riding your bike! Gather your friends, neighbors, and family for a group ride to this premier cycling event in The Woodlands. Plus, the first 150 bikers to arrive will receive a free snow cone, courtesy of Kona Ice. Whether you bike, walk, or drive, we invite you to join us for Bike The Woodlands Day as we celebrate our community’s commitment to being bicycle-friendly! May 24, 2026 – Memorial Day in The Woodlands – Join The Woodlands Township for the annual tribute to fallen heroes. The Woodlands Township invites residents to the Memorial Day in The Woodlands event on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Town Green Park, 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, from 5 to 9 p.m. The Sunday event pays tribute to all military service men and women who lost their lives while serving our country. The tribute features live music, children’s activities, strolling entertainment and more at Town Green Park. The evening concludes with a fireworks display (weather permitting) choreographed to a patriotic soundtrack. A care package drop-off booth will be available onsite to accept donations of recommended items to be shipped to the troops. Learn More
