Boo Weekley wins 2026 Insperity Invitational
The Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare delivered a memorable finish on Sunday as Boo Weekley captured his first victory on the PGA TOUR Champions.
Weekley put together a bogey-free week, following back-to-back rounds of 66 with a composed 3-under-par 69 on Sunday to prevail against one of the deepest fields on the senior circuit.

Holding a one-shot lead heading to the 17th hole, Weekley delivered the decisive moment of the tournament, rolling in a 20-foot birdie putt on the challenging par-4 while Ernie Els made double bogey, giving Weekley a four-shot cushion en route to the final tee box. He preserved the bogey-free week in style, calmly converting a par putt on the 18th hole to seal the victory.
“It’s been a lot of hard work. It’s been a long time coming. And just trying to get healthy, then finally getting healthy and getting to where I feel like I can compete,” said Weekley. “I got a golf ball, Bridgestone, you know, irons. It’s made a change and it’s helped me out a lot. I believe that’s what gave me more of the focus now is I got something I believe in where I’m going with.”
Els bounced back with a birdie on 18, but ran out of holes and had to settle for second place with rounds of 67-66-71 (-12). Darren Clarke and Charlie Wi finished T3 at -11. Defending champion, Stewart Cink, placed T5 alongside Zach Johnson at -10.

Words from the Pros
“Once I found that swing in the practice round, I got it. I mean, I figured it out. You know, like I say, golf is a sport that comes and goes, and it’s emotion. But I knew I had the confidence. I knew I had the swing going in the right direction this week. I felt good with the putter all week. I put a lot of work in on it. And it showed.” – Boo Weekley
“I just couldn’t buy a putt this afternoon. I think the golf course is unbelievable. But I just couldn’t quite get my pace on the greens. But, you know, I’m positive, I hit the ball pretty decent.” – Ernie Els
“It was a good week. It was good playing in Houston. I mean, this whole team, Insperity, Bryan Naugle, everybody involved, just an absolutely class event.” – Ernie Els
