Hop on Over for EggTivities and a visit with the Easter Bunny!

By  |

Our eggs-tremely popular EggTivities event takes place on Friday, April 18th, from 10am-3pm and Saturday, April 19th,  from 10am-2pm. In addition to enjoying the museum’s exhibits, guests can visit with the Easter Bunny, dye eggs, create an eggs-traordinary bunny mask, and embellish egg carton baskets and bunny boxes to carry their eggs-cellently decorated one-of-a-kind eggs.

“It’s wonderful to see the spark of wonder in children’s eyes as plain hard-boiled white eggs become vibrant hues, a direct result of their actions, and then how this inspires their imagination when creating whimsical bunny masks and egg-carrying boxes,” explains Executive Director Angela Colton. “Our curated art projects encourage creative thinking and artistic expression, reflecting the cultural significance of Spring’s arrival and renewal.”

Families can also enjoy Easter-themed story times during the two-day event. On Friday, April 18th at 11:00am, guests can delight in a reading of “The Golden Egg Book” by Margaret Wise Brown. In this heartwarming tale, a young bunny discovers a mysterious blue egg and tries to figure out what’s inside, making a new friend along the way. On Friday, April 18th at 1:00pm and Saturday, April 19th at 11:00am, guests can enjoy a reading of “Bear Finds Eggs” by Karma Wilson. In this popular story with beautiful illustrations, Bear and his friends help Mama Meadowlark find her missing eggs, painting each one a bright color and discovering the eggs are ready to hatch just as they are about to return them.

EggTivities is not included with general admission. The cost is $6 per child, in addition to general admission, for both members and non-members. Visitors are encouraged to pre-purchase tickets for this popular event at www.woodlandschildrensmuseum.org
