Law Enforcement and District Attorney’s Office join efforts for a Safe Holiday Season

By  |

With the holidays approaching, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office in conjunction with state and local law enforcement agencies, are working together to combat impaired driving. The goal of this initiative is to prevent crashes and deaths due to impaired drivers so that everyone makes it home safely for the holidays.

The Texas Department of Public Safety, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Montgomery County Constable Precinct 1, Montgomery County Constable Precinct 3, Montgomery County Constable Precinct 4, Splendora Police Department, Shenandoah Police Department, Conroe Police Department, Montgomery Police Department, Magnolia Police Department and the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission have all committed to increasing their patrol efforts to stop impaired driving before catastrophic consequences happen.

During this time, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office, through their No Refusal TxDOT Grant, will provide nurses or phlebotomists, prosecutors, and investigators to assist law enforcement in obtaining blood evidence in cases where a DWI suspect refuses to provide a scientific sample.

Rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft make getting home safely simple, and far more affordable than a DWI. Please make the right choice and get a sober ride. Failure to plan ahead means you may end up arrested, hurting others, or endangering yourself.

Vehicular Crimes Chief Brittany Hansford shared, “Dedicated law enforcement agencies are working tirelessly to safeguard our community against impaired driving, but the crucial decision lies within each individual. Our office will provide whatever assistance is needed to reduce the chances of a loss of life. Our goal is to keep Montgomery County roads as safe as possible during the Holidays.”
