Staying in town with the family this Spring Break? Here’s a list of ideas and family-friendly events sure to keep everyone entertained!

Spring Break Events in The Woodlands Area

Friday, March 10

Lights, Heights & Bites – Start off Spring Break on Friday with Lights, Heights & Bites, a 2-hour climb at twilight, finishing up the night with a special snack and activity! The snack for March 10th is s’mores/snow cones. Lights, Heights & Bites takes place at Texas TreeVentures, 6464 Creekside Forest Drive, The Woodlands, TX 77389, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. and from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. All children (ages 6–12) require an adult (18+) to climb with them one-on-one. Ticket purchase required for all Adult Supervisor climbers. Tickets are $45 per person regardless of age. Learn More

Live on the Lawn – Enjoy live music on the lawn at Central Park in Market Street with Sarah Kelly Music School from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday nights. Blankets and lawn chairs welcome. Learn More

All About Bees Presentation – Swarm down to Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center’s next All About Presentation and find out what all the buzz is about! All About Bees is family friendly and all ages welcome. Registration is not required but space is limited. Learn More

Wunderlich Farm Fun Friday with Toddlers – Come out and enjoy some time with your toddler from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Wunderlich Farm. This month the project is making a pine cone bird feeder, along with reading a story about Spring, and grinding some corn to feed to the animals. There are only 25 spots; RSVP required. $5 for each toddler. Learn More

March 10-11 Tomball Art League Spring Show – The Tomball Art League Spring Show will be open to the public on Friday, March 10 from 1:00 to 6:00 pm and Saturday, March 11 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Lone Star College – Tomball Community Library, 30555 Tomball Pkwy, Tomball, TX 77375. Saturday, March 11

Arts in the Park – Enjoy an afternoon outdoors with family and friends at Arts in the Park! This FREE event features local vendors selling original artwork, live stage entertainment, children’s activities, food trucks and more! Artists 18 and younger are encouraged to create their very own masterpiece and enter the Youth Art Contest. Arts in the Park will be held at Northshore Park from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. Learn More

Creekwood Fishing Derby – Bring your fishing poles and the Township will provide the bait at the 16th Annual Creekwood Fishing Derby. Prizes awarded for longest, heaviest, and smallest fish caught. T-Shirts are given on first come, first served basis. The derby is free and sponsored by The Woodlands Professional Firefighters Association. No registration required. All Ages. Introduction to Orienteering – Orienteering, the art and sport of navigating with a compass, is a timeless skill. Learn the basics and practice your skills using the orienteering points located in the George Mitchell Nature Preserve. All materials will be provided. Participants will receive a compass after the class to continue their adventures. Introduction to Orienteering will be held at the Rob Fleming Recreation Center from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Ages 9+. 2nd Saturday at The Depot – 2nd Saturday at The Depot, held at Tomball Depot Plaza, is a free, family-friendly evening with kids’ activities and a movie. The movie, Minions: The Rise of Gru, starts at dusk (about 6:35 p.m.), but get there early for the activities and scavenger hunt (while supplies last). Grab lawn chairs, blankets and your favorite snacks and head to the Tomball Depot Plaza, 201 S Elm St, Tomball, TX 77375, for family fun. The event, held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., is free and everyone is welcome to join! Concert in the Park – Concert in the Park is a free family tradition of music and fun for all ages held at Northshore Park from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Coolers, picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted. Learn More

Margaritaville Market – Spend an afternoon in paradise at Margaritaville Lake Conroe shopping high end artisans, makers, and creatives while sipping on a margarita surrounded by the views at the resort. The market is free to attend and kid friendly. Shop from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Learn More

March 12, 15 & 18Spring Break Goat Yoga Class – It is not too often that you get the chance to connect with nature and practice yoga with a group of adorable animals. Goat Yoga at The Woodlands Resort is a fun and unforgettable fitness experience like no other. This lighthearted beginner-friendly Ashtanga class is a one-hour long session beginning at 11:00 am that includes practicing poses alongside the sweet pygmy kids and plenty of time for taking selfies with the goats. Superhero Day – Be a superhero! Come to Market Street and transform into a caped crusader by designing your own cape and mask from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Learn More

March 13, 15, 17Giant Master Bubble Wrangler Station – The free Giant Master Bubble Wrangler Station is back at City Place Plaza. The Texas Bubblers will showcase masters of the art using their wands to create bubbles as large as 10 feet wide. Learn More

Sonny “The Birdman” Carlin Presentations – Sonny “The Birdman” Carlin’s macaws and other exotic bird species will be on stage at The Woodlands Children’s Museum for three colorful, interactive, child-friendly and entertaining performances at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. Carlin has spent the past 25 years training exotic birds to do unique tricks – such as ride a unicycle, carry a flag, and fly on command. Young Audiences – Storytelling Through Sound – Music tells stories just like your favorite books. Experience both a performance element and an interactive project element at this free event held at City Place Plaza at 3:00 p.m. Ages K-12. Learn More

Teen Double Feature – Black Panther & Wakanda Forever – Kick off Spring Break and kick back at the Mitchell Library for a Black Panther Double Feature – just for teens! Coffee with a Cop – Enjoy coffee and conversation with your local police officers! Sterling Ridge’s Coffee with a Cop will be held at the Sterling Ridge McDonald’s, 6730 Woodlands Parkway, The Woodlands, TX 77380, from 8:30 - 10:30 am. Learn More

Kids Spring Break Sign Party! – Join the Rustic Peach at Deacon Baldy’s decorating signs and enjoying food from the local food trucks onsite at the annual Kids Sign Party from noon to 2:00 p.m. Ages 5 and up. Registration closes March 10th. Learn More

The Woodlands Township Safety Fair – The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Services invites you to learn about public safety and other ways to keep your family safe at this hands-on safety fair and car seat check (appointments required). Come explore a police vehicle, firetruck, and ambulance, and talk with the people who keep us safe. Additional organizations will share information and giveaways on water, bicycle and pedestrian safety. Appointments are required for the car seat check. The safety fair is held at The Woodlands Children’s Museum, 4775 W Panther Creek, The Woodlands, TX 77381, from 10:00 am to  1:00 pm. Learn More

Alphabet Hike – Join naturalists at Burroughs Park for a nature walk to search for things that start with every letter of the alphabet. The walk is through paved and natural surface trails; closed-toe shoes recommended. All ages welcome. Learn More

Peeps Houses: Building Workshop – Construct a Peeps House at this sweet-filled event at the Mitchell Library. All building materials provided by the library. This program is geared for ages 8 to 12 and a parent must stay in the library. Life is a Circus – Come one, come all, and clown around the park with balloons and cotton candy! Market Street is hosting the event from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in Central Park. Learn More

Young Audiences – West African Drumming from Senegal – This drumming class explores rhythms from Senegal through hands-on practice and lecture demonstration at City Place Plaza from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Participants will each be paired with their own instrument. Wednesday, MARCH 15

Music in the Gardens – Children and parents learn and experience rhythm and music in a fun garden classroom environment at Mercer Botanic Gardens. Kindermusik curriculum utilizes songs, instruments, and movement to inspire creativity, confidence, and music appreciation in children. Meet inside the Mercer Visitor Center. Ages 2-5. Learn to Fish at Bluegill Pond – Join Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center for a fun-filled day of learning about the basics of fishing! From 10:00 a.m. to noon learn how to setup a fishing pole, tie 2 fishing knots, fish ID, fish habitat, and more. Break for a picnic lunch from noon to 1:00 p.m., then from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. put your new skills to the test at Bluegill Pond! Crafts & Crafts – Make Your Own Door Hanger – Join Pam’s Paint Parties at B-52 Brewing for the March Crafts & Crafts event to design your very own custom door hanger! These cute creations come with a wooden backdrop, paint & phrase options, and ribbon/greenery. Perfect for Spring! iNaturalist Scavenger Hunt – Venture through the preserves at Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center and be on the lookout for the items on your scavenger hunt! When you find an item on the scavenger hunt snap a picture of it and then upload the picture to “Big Year 2023 Spring Creek Greenway Nature Center.” If you are not familiar with iNaturalist or you need help finding the project page a staff member can help you set everything up on your phone. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle, comfortable shoes for hiking, phone/camera-iNaturalist app downloaded, and binoculars. Learn More

Young Audiences – Hip Hop – Learn about the four elements of hip hop at City Place Plaza from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. in this free, fun demonstration. Crowd participation is encouraged! Ages K-12. Learn More

Bubbles in the Park – From noon to 2:00 pm, “pop” in for fun with the Texas Bubblers in Central Park at Market Street. Learn More

Children’s Musician Will Parker performances – Sing and giggle with Musician Will Parker at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm at The Woodlands Children’s Museum. Will Parker is a children’s songwriter and teaching artist who writes and performs music for “kids ages 1-100.” During Will’s whimsical and interactive shows, he plays guitar and harmonica and sings original songs that engage the audience in singing-along, dancing, high-fiving, and imaginative play. Learn More

Try something new – Visit one of our nearby petting zoos, pick seasonal produce from one of our local farms, watch a play at a local theater, take in art at the Conroe Art League, climb an aerial adventure course at Texas TreeVentures or choose indoor rock climbing, get immersed in our local virtual reality room, try a Mom & Me sewing class, or head to a local indoor golf center. Check out books at area libraries, enjoy a backyard or park picnic, go to a pottery making class, take a stroll through Old Town Spring, take a painting class, or get old school with the classic video arcade room. There’s mini golf, blacklight golf, rollerskating rinks, archery at Rob Fleming Park, and even local escape rooms.
