Make an Impact Locally with Montgomery County Community Foundation

By  |

The COVID-19 virus has made everyone think – and work – out of the box. Mosaics of Mercy, a Montgomery County Community Foundation 2019 grantee, knew podcasts could help people better understand mental health, the treatments available, and the issues surrounding this hot topic. Podcasts could be archived and available to whoever needed them, whenever they needed them. A grant from the Community Foundation made those podcasts a reality.

COVID sharply spotlighted mental health concerns for the families and friends of people struggling with the disease. The podcasts with mental health specialists greatly expanded this small organization’s ability to help people ask the right questions to get the help they needed quickly. It turned out to be the right project for this turbulent time.

A gift to your local community foundation is an investment in the future of your community. At Montgomery County Community Foundation, we don’t think about the next election or business cycle, we think about how to improve the quality of life for the next generation and future generations. That can seem daunting, but it’s one that we all share. During Community Foundation Week, I hope you’ll join us in recognizing our collective impact and the difference we can make together, right here in Montgomery County.
