Pet of the Month: Comet

By  |

Hello Woodlands in partnership with Operation Pets Alive will begin highlighting a “Pet of the Month” that features a local dog or cat available for foster and/or adoption in Montgomery County, Texas. Operation Pets Alive is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters, and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive.

For our first Pet of the Month, we are excited to introduce you to Comet!

Comet’s Story

“Cute little Comet was irresistible as one of our puppies, but his adopters didn’t invest much time in training and decided to return him after 6 months. His first birthday was November 24 and he has been in boarding for 5 months waiting for a foster to commit to him. He had a foster for a short time who was taking him to adoption events, but unfortunately she is unable to assist him due to health issues.”

“He is just like any other one-year-old puppy, desperate for attention and ready to please to receive praise, especially after being returned by his adopter! Comet doesn’t seem to have any serious behavioral issues, he’s just a bit quirky. If he has a chance to do it, he likes to carry the leash in his mouth! He probably won’t do well in a home with small children, as he is very active and doesn’t realize his size. He loves people and other dogs, but some dogs may not like him in their face – he is still a puppy after all! He would make a good dog with training for an athlete or a runner. Please don’t overlook this sweet guy’s potential!”

“Comet would love to be adopted and finally find his #fureverfamily.”
