Sheriff makes arrest for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child
On November 6, 2020, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office received information in reference to allegations of ongoing child sexual abuse and child physical abuse that were believed to have occurred over an extended period of time in both Montgomery County and Trinity County.
With the assistance of Children’s Safe Harbor (Children’s Advocacy Center in Conroe, Texas), the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Trinity County Sheriff’s Office, and Trinity County Constable Mark Cole, Detectives were able to secure an arrest warrant for George Glynn Banta (48 years-old) , and a search warrant for his Trinity County residence. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit and Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit, along with many of the above mentioned entities, executed these warrants on November 19, 2020. Banta was located and arrested on the charge of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Young Child (or Children).
Authorities have reason to believe there could potentially be other adult and juvenile victims currently unknown to law enforcement. If you have been romantically involved with George Glynn Banta, or if your children have spent any time with Banta or his children, (especially at his home either in Trinity County or Montgomery County), the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is asking that you contact authorities immediately in reference to Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office case # 20A347870.
