October 2024 – Classes and Programs at Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center – Canopy is a cancer survivorship on the campus of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center. Canopy is open to men and women, no matter where you were treated, and for any kind of cancer – at no cost to you. If your life has been impacted, whether you were the patient or the caregiver, you have a safe haven at Canopy. October is full with programs and classes at Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center! October 5, 2024 – Grand Central Park Sip & Shop – Shopping with a side of libations, food and music promises fun for everyone during a Sip & Shop event, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, October 5, at Grand Central Park! More than 100 local vendors will offer up unique jewelry, boutique clothing, art, gourmet food, furniture, decorations and more at The Lake House, 1039 Lake House Drive, Conroe, TX 77304. Accompanying them will be food trucks, wine and beer to sip, DJ and more. The event is free. Parking is located at the SHSU campus, 925 City Central Avenue, Conroe, Texas 77304 with a complimentary shuttle service. Learn More
Saturdays, October 5 – November 23, 2024 – It’s 5 o’Clock Somewhere Concert Series at Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake Conroe – Join Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake Conroe Saturday nights at 5 o’Clock for Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake Conroe’s outdoor concert series featuring great tribute bands, local favorites, and new Nashville talent! Bring your lawn chairs and blanket to sit on the St. Somewhere Spa lawn every Saturday at 5 p.m., beginning Saturday, October 5 through Saturday, November 23 to experience live. Enjoy the beautiful fall weather on the lawn, on your boat, or from the comfort of an Adirondack chair in the VIP section. General Admission tickets are free of charge, but we ask that you claim a complimentary ticket per person for the concert. You’ll receive 20% off food and non-alcoholic beverages at LandShark Bar & Grill or License to Chill Bar & Café with your ticket. October 14-19, 2024 – The Woodlands 50th Anniversary Celebration – Howard Hughes and The Woodlands Township have partnered on the year-long 50th anniversary celebration. The week of events will be held October 14 to 19, 2024. Learn More
- Tuesday, October 15 – Day of Giving – Community service and philanthropy are engrained within the fabric of The Woodlands. Interfaith of The Woodlands is offering volunteer opportunities for the entire month of October. Learn how to sign up
- Friday, October 18 – 50th Concert Celebration, presented by Howard Hughes – Lyle Lovett and his Large Band will headline this free concert, featuring Hayes Carll and Jack Ingram as the opening acts at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, one of the top ranked outdoor amphitheaters in the world. - Saturday, October 19 – Grand Public Celebration – October 19 marks the actual 50th anniversary date of The Woodlands. A grand public extravaganza, produced by The Woodlands Township, will be held at Northshore Park and the Hughes Landing Band Shell in The Woodlands. This free, family-friendly event will culminate with an innovative high-tech drone and fireworks show, lighting the sky above Lake Woodlands. Learn More
October 17, 2024 – Hocus Pocus Pops – Spooky symphony songs are only half the story. The other terrible tale we have to tell is of the thousands of little costumed ghouls and goblins that will descend upon our plazas and even parade across our stage! Come October 17, you and your family are invited to a free Houston Symphony show that will haunt your memory for decades to come. Expect trick or treating in the plazas, songs that are just the right amount of scary, and fun spread out over every inch of The Pavilion. This is undoubtedly the best way to kick off the Halloween season. Learn More
October 22, 2024 – U.S. Army Field Band and Soldier’s Chorus – From Boston to Baghdad, Tampa to Toronto, The United States Army Field Band has been thrilling audiences of all ages for more than six decades. As the premier touring musical representative for the United States Army, this internationally-acclaimed organization travels thousands of miles each year presenting a variety of music to enthusiastic audiences throughout the nation and abroad. Through these concerts, the Field Band fosters the support of the American people for members of the armed forces and supports diplomatic efforts around the world. The United States Army Field Band is considered by music critics to be one of the most versatile and inspiring musical organizations in the world. Its members, selected by highly-competitive audition, represent some of the finest musical talent in America. The Pavilion will present this free event at The Woodlands Church. No Tickets Required! Purchase tickets to the Texas Fine Craft Show! The Texas Fine Craft Show is an indoor boutique shopping experience hosted at The Westin Hotel in The Woodlands on November 1, 2, and 3, 2024. Featuring the work of over 40 world-class fine craft artists from across the nation, the Texas Fine Craft Show celebrates two dynamic decades of The Woodlands Arts Council – the producers of The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival – making art matter in our community. November 2, 2024 – Harvest in The Hills – Celebrate the fall season at The Woodlands Hills! Tour all 12 new model homes by November 17 and be eligible to win a $2,500 gift card. October 5, 2024 – Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas – The annual Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas race offers a certified 10-mile course, plus the 3.1 Armadillo Run 5K and One 4 Texas Kids’ Fun Run. October 6, 2024 – Annual Blessing of the Animals – To commemorate the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi, Trinity Episcopal Church is hosting a Blessing of the Animals on October 6th. The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the courtyard with the blessing at 2:00 p.m. Animals of all sizes are invited. October 8, 2024 – Café con Miguel with Jim Carman – Join the Montgomery County Hispanic Chamber (MCHC) on Tuesday, October 8 when the President for Howard Hughes – Houston Region, Jim Carman, sits down with MCHC President Miguel Lopez for an unrehearsed fireside chat. October 10, 2024 – The John Cooper School’s Athletics Preview Night – Join The John Cooper School on Thursday, October 10, 2024 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM for their Athletics Preview Night in the Athletic Center. October 12 & 13, 2024 – Founders Cup Tennis Tournament – The Woodlands Township will host The Founders Cup, a doubles tennis tournament celebrating our community’s rich heritage and passion for tennis. The inaugural event will take place on Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13, 2024, at various Township tennis courts. The Founders Cup invites participants aged 18 and older to form teams of six players, consisting of three doubles pairings, to compete in a series of round-robin matches. Matches will be held across 70+ courts throughout The Woodlands, concluding in the semi-finals and finals at the Bear Branch Park Tennis Complex, 5200 Research Forest Drive, 77381. Learn More

October 19, 2024 – Fast Draw Competition – The Woodlands Arts Council’s Fast Draw Competition will be held on Saturday, October 19 at 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. at The Woodlands Mall in the Nordstrom Courtyard. 7th and 8th grade students from Montgomery County are given drawing materials and have 50 minutes to complete a still life as they work against the clock! October 20, 2024 – Trinity Episcopal Fall Festival – Join us for this year’s Fall Festival! It’s back with a collaboration of Trinity Episcopal Church and our preschool Trinity Episcopal Day School (TEDS). It will be held on Sunday, October 20 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and will continue our tradition of fun, fellowship and food.
