Experience Shoal (Ongoing)
Shoal is an ongoing, experiential artwork featuring a choreographed, interactive light show. Located on Restaurant Row in Hughes Landing, this is the latest addition to one of the largest outdoor collections in the country. Keep Houston Free Gala
Redeemed Ministries’ annual Keep Houston Free Gala is an opportunity to come together each year to highlight the work that’s been accomplished throughout the year and to look toward the future. This year the ministry will celebrate 13 years of safe house operation. Redeemed Ministries operates an 8-bed restoration home in the greater Houston area for adult domestic survivors of sex trafficking with a trauma-informed, victim-centered approach. While in the program, which is 100% free of cost to them, they receive comprehensive, wrap-around services. On September 8th, learn how you can become a part of their journey to life long healing. “Noun: People, Places, Things” Opening Reception
Ardest Gallery, a local fine arts gallery curated by Gallery Director Julie Verville, represents nearly 40 top Texas 2D and 3D visual artists. In addition to its core artists, the gallery will host ongoing events such as monthly group art shows, Coffee Talk with an Artist, Art to Lunch in partnership with local restaurants, poetry readings, musical performances, and art classes/workshops for all ages and skill levels. The new Ardest Gallery exhibition, “Noun: People, Places, Things,” will feature works by Texas artists juried by Sheng Kuan Chung. Grab lawn chairs, blankets and your favorite snacks and head to the Tomball Depot Plaza, 201 S Elm St, Tomball, TX 77375, for family fun at the 2nd Saturday at The Depot. The family movie is Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, an animated film about a hound who finds himself in a town full of cats who need a hero to defend them. The movie starts at dusk (about 7:45 p.m.) but get there early for fun activities, including demonstration from Icon Martial Arts, a rock climbing wall, obstacle course, and more! The Kid Fishing Derby is a free fishing event for kids ages 16 & younger. The event will be held at a new location, 10245 Owen Dr, Conroe, TX 77304, beginning at noon. Register on site the day of the event. You may use your own gear or use a pole and bait from the limited amount of supplies available. Concert in the Park Featuring First Responders Day
Concert in the Park is a popular family tradition of music and fun for all ages, held from 5:30 - 7:30pm at at Northshore Park on Sundays. Concert in the Park features local bands playing a variety of favorites from pop and rock to country. Coolers, picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted. Snow cones available for purchase at all concerts. This special Concert in the park will honor local first responders. Food vendors onsite will be providing special offers for first responders.
