Wine Women & Shoes to Benefit Harvey Breast Cancer Patients

By  |

THE WOODLANDS – The Breast Cancer Charities of America has announced that with the recent devastation Houston and surrounding areas have seen from Hurricane Harvey, all proceeds from the upcoming Wine Women & Shoes event will go directly back to Houston area breast cancer patients who were recently affected by the storm.

“It is our job to serve our community in a time of emergency and disaster,” said Erica Johnson, Founder and Executive Director of The Breast Cancer Charities of America. “People who were struggling with cancer before Hurricane Harvey are STILL struggling with breast cancer, and now, with possibly nothing left.”

The Breast Cancer Charities of America, headquartered in The Woodlands, saw the need to serve and act upon all the tragic loses people have faced. “We created the iGoPink Emergency Financial Assistance Program to help struggling women who have lost everything in our community,” said Johnson. “We started receiving inquiries for help the day after the storm…women who needed to get to chemo or radiation…women who were diagnosed last week with breast cancer and this weekend, Hurricane Harvey stole their home/possessions. These emergency financial assistance grants will help these women as they start to rebuild.”

The Breast Cancer Charities of America has also set up a specific donation for Hurricane victims and 100% of all donations received through the end of September will go towards the Emergency Financial Grants for Houston residents. Patients that wish to apply for the grant can also visit iGoPink.org and apply under the online application form on their Houston Programs page.

Wine Women & Shoes, presented by EXIT Lone Star Realty, will be held on September 21, 2017 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel.
