Dog Walker Watch Yappy Hours educate how to recognize and report suspicious activity in The Woodlands
The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Services Department hosted multiple Dog Walker Watch Yappy Hours throughout the month of April at various dog parks in The Woodlands.
On Wednesday, April 24, from 5 to 6 p.m. the final Yappy Hour of April was held at Rob Fleming Dog Park, 6055 Creekside Forest Drive, where residents and dog enthusiasts had the opportunity to learn how to be the “extra eyes and ears” of law enforcement and about the Dog Walker Watch program. Scooter’s Coffee, located at two local locations at 26551 Kuykendahl Rd. and 24527 Gosling Rd., also was onsite and serve pup cups to their tail-wagging furry companions.
The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Services Department’s Dog Walker Watch program is a crime awareness program of the National Association of Town Watch. Yappy Hours are an integral part of the Dog Walker Watch program, designed to foster heightened awareness of suspicious activities and educate attendees on how to report such incidents to law enforcement effectively.
Recognize suspicious activity in your neighborhood! When walking your dog, if something doesn’t seem normal, trust your instincts. Report suspicious activity to law enforcement immediately.

- Report suspicious activity to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office by calling (936) 442-7797, Option 3, or the Harris County Constable’s Office Precinct 4 at (281) 376-3472.
The next Yappy Hour is scheduled to be held on Friday, May 3 from 5 to 6 p.m. at Cattail Dog Park located at 9323 Cochran’s Crossing Drive.
