First Community Credit Union, through approval from the Texas Credit Union Department, has expanded the organization’s field of membership. The new Texas counties added to FCCU’s field of membership are Austin, Bastrop, Bell, Bexar, Brazoria, Caldwell, Colorado, Comal, Fayette, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays, Milam, Lee, Travis and Williamson. Combined with the 25 counties FCCU currently serves in Houston and the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex, these 16 additional counties allow FCCU to serve the four largest metropolitan areas in Texas.

“From our humble beginnings in 1954 as Spring Branch Educators Credit Union, First Community has continued to grow and expand to new heights,” said President/CEO, TJ Tijerina. “This expansion will now allow us to serve members in San Antonio and the capitol of Texas, Austin. We are excited to be serving more Texans.”

First Community is a full-service financial institution that offers deposit and loan products, as well as investment services, through traditional and digital channels to members. It has been recognized as Houston’s Best Credit Union in the Houston Chronicle’s Best of the Best awards two years in a row.

Opening its doors to these Texas counties enables FCCU to strengthen its connection with more Texas communities and continue to improve the financial well-being of its growing member base through consumer and commercial products. First Community’s leading technology provides a convenient and seamless banking experience for all.

“Our mission is to empower our members so they can achieve their financial goals,” continued TJ Tijerina. “We look forward to expanding and improving the financial well-being of our members and community. People helping people is the core of who we are. It’s how we started and what we look forward to accomplishing most with this expansion throughout the Lone Star state.”
