Child Advocates of Montgomery County gathered on April 13, 2026, at The Peach Orchard in The Woodlands to celebrate the volunteers and community partners whose dedication drives the organization’s mission forward. The evening recognized volunteers reaching 5- and 10-year service milestones, as well as the community partners who support Child Advocates’ work behind the scenes.

Two Advocates were recognized with special awards for a decade of standing up for children in crisis: Mark Fincher and Madge Hollinger. Their ten years of service represent countless hours invested in the lives of vulnerable children and families across Montgomery County.

Child Advocates also recognized Lead Outreach Specialist Shellie Tyrrell, who has served as the organization’s sole recruiter of volunteers since 2017. Since joining the team, Tyrrell has played a role in 547 Advocates completing pre-service training and being sworn in—each one stepping forward to change a child’s life.

Four long-time community partners were honored for their ongoing generosity and meaningful contributions to the children and families served by Child Advocates of Montgomery County: Bags of Love, Project Linus, Victor Love, and The Bike Guys.

“To every volunteer who joined us, and to all who serve throughout the year, thank you for believing in children, showing up with compassion, and being the reason hope continues to grow,” President and CEO Ann Marie Ronsman shared with attendees.

Child Advocates of Montgomery County extends its deepest gratitude to all volunteers, donors, and community partners whose support makes this work possible.
