The Congregate Meal program is a collaboration with Montgomery County, Meals on Wheels Montgomery County and Interfaith of The Woodlands. Since June of 2022, Interfaith has served the hot lunch daily to local Senior Adults at the South Montgomery County Community Center. As needs continue to grow, serving over 250 Seniors weekly, the County is supporting the $96,000 a year commitment to ensure every Senior who needs a hot lunch will be served.

“We are grateful to Montgomery County and Commissioner Noack for their partnership in caring. Every program and service we offer, is only possible thanks the generosity of our community. Feeding our Seniors is one of our top priorities and this program makes a tremendous impact on their quality of life,” shared Missy Herndon, President and CEO of Interfaith of The Woodlands.

The funds bestowed by Commissioner Noack will help Interfaith meet the social and dietary needs of older adults by providing nutritionally balanced meals in a group setting, allowing each Senior to feel a part of their community.

Commissioner James Noack of Precinct 3 feels passionately about the program. He shared, “Feeding our Seniors is of the utmost importance and we are lucky to have a robust Meals on Wheels program, as well as an entity like Interfaith of The Woodlands willing to serve and live in a county which brings these resources together to make it happen.”

Since the program resumed after the pandemic last year, Interfaith of The Woodlands has provided 14,066 senior adults meals through the Congregate Meal program. Interfaith Senior Services department promotes independent living to Senior Adults age 62 and older.
