2027 Featured Artist and 6 Best of Show Winners announced for The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival
On Sunday, April 12, the last and final day of The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival, Hello Woodlands got to tag along as The Woodlands Arts Council awarded and announced the 2027 Featured Artist and six Best of Show Winners.

Each year, on the festival’s opening day, a team of judges representing The Woodlands Arts Council reviews art from all participating artists to select a Featured Artist and Best of Show Winners. The judges are local gallery owners, art teachers, artists, and business professionals. Artists are scored on artistic merit and booth presentation. Prize winners are jury-exempt for two years and receive booth awards and other benefits.
The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival 2027 Featured Artist is David Alvarado from Los Angeles, CA and his IRTHLY Jewelry.
Six Best of Show winners:
- Margaret Baker from Winter Springs, FL – Painting
- Mary Beth McGinnis from Houston, TX – Fiber
- Rita Kirkman from New Braunfels, TX – Drawing/Pastels/Printmaking
- Sidney & Laddavan Spencer from Elgin, TX – 3D Mixed Media
- Matt Conlon from Ogden, UT – Ceramics
- Dale Rogers from Haverhill, MA – Sculpture/Metal Works
