April 6 – Woodforest Crawfish Carnival – Thrill seekers and crawfish cravers will both be satisfied at the Woodforest Crawfish Carnival! Heaps of spicy crustaceans and a Ferris wheel headline the event taking place at Christine Allen Nature Park from noon to 5:00 p.m. A $10 admission ticket includes 3 pounds of crawfish or a food item and non-alcoholic drink as well as zydeco music, carnival games, crawfish races, inflatables, a photo booth and more. Tickets at the door are cash-only and cost $15. Adults 21+ can purchase beer, wine and margaritas from Southern Rum Runners. Learn More

April 11 – YMCA Dancing for a Cause – Join us for the 7th Annual YMCA Dancing with The Woodlands Stars as local community stars Dance for a CAUSE! The evening includes dinner buffet, cash bar, dancing, live entertainment, silent and live auction and much more. Vote for your favorite dancer with a donation to the YMCA! Purchase tickets

April 13 – Brews & BBQ – Grand Central Park is serving up food and libations to benefit Henry’s Home Horse & Human Sanctuary noon – 5:00 p.m. at Deer Lake, 715 Camp Strake Road, Conroe, TX 77304. Tickets for a catered barbecue lunch cost $10 and can be pre-purchased or paid for with cash at the door. Alcohol also will be available for purchase. All proceeds go the Henry’s Home Horse & Human Sanctuary! There will be live music by the Joe Bailey Band, pony rides, bull ride, giant pong game, skeeball, raffle prizes and more! April 13 & 14 – The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival – Town Green Park and the Waterway will be transformed into an outdoor art gallery featuring over 200 juried artists from across the country. Enjoy 4 entertainment stages, hands-on art activities and demonstrations along with amazing food and beverages all weekend long. The festival is located in The Woodlands Town Center – including Town Green Park, along the Waterway from the Marriott to Grogan’s Mill Road. Purchase Tickets

April 19 – Good Friday with Bob Goff – Bob Goff, the best-selling author of Love Does and Everybody Always, will be coming to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on Good Friday, April 19 as the the featured speaker as part of The Woodlands United Methodist Church’s Good Friday service. The gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with the church hosting various activities for children. The service starts at 6:00 p.m. with worship and an uplifting message from Bob. The Good Friday service is free and open to everyone! Learn More

April 20 – Children’s Memorial Hermann IRONKIDS Texas Fun Run – The Ironkids Fun Run offers young athletes the opportunity to feel the excitement of competition while enjoying the outdoors and promoting healthy living. Each athlete receives a race bib, finisher shirt, medal, goodie bag and the pride of calling themselves an Ironkid! Village booths and activities begin at 8:30 a.m. with the race starting at 9:30 a.m. at Town Green Park. There will be the Easter Bunny, and mascots, Obstacle course and games, a virtual photo booth, arts and crafts, an inflatable slide, ambulance tours, and snow cones! Register Here

April 20 – The Music of Tom Petty: The Houston Symphony Orchestra – Tom Petty’s rocking, rolling classics hit The Pavilion with the full force of the Houston Symphony behind them. Lawn and Mezzanine seating is free. Gates open at 7:00 p.m. and the show starts at 8:00 p.m. Learn More

April 26 – 2019 Master Series: Opera Heroes – The Woodlands hometown singing celebrities Ian Ramirez and Kelley Peters serenade and swoon the audience in anticipation of the Woodlands Symphony Orchestra Season Finale: Opera Heroes. Enjoy classical, romantic and modern arias from Mozart to Bizet, Rossini to Puccini, and Gershwin to Bernstein. Learn More

APRIL EVENTS

April 1 – Go Green for Red Golf Tournament – Play golf for a great cause! The 2nd Annual Go Green for Red Golf Tournament benefits the American Heart Association. The tournament starts at 10:30 a.m. with registration and the practice facility opening, then a putting competition, shamble tee off, dinner, auction & awards! April 2 – Light it up Blue for Autism at Market Street – Come join us on Market Street where we will light the entire courtyard up BLUE for World Autism Awareness Day! Local resources that provide both recreational & therapeutic services will be there to share what they do here in our area. We will have a HUGE puzzle wall for those with Autism or their loved ones to come and put their own customized piece up! This will be a visual reminder to our community of just how many lives Autism touches. Each piece is blank, ready for your own personal message or drawing at no cost. Learn More

 

 

 

April 3 – Pre-K – 12th Grade Admission Tour – Take a tour and learn more about The John Cooper School April 3 at 10:00 a.m. starting in the Ramirez Lecture Hall of The Rock Math + Science Center. April 5 – Giving Goes Glam – Giving Goes Glam invites you to mingle and lunch with your friends while enjoying a chic, Saks Fifth Avenue fashion show. The stylish fashion show and luncheon benefits Interfaith of The Woodlands and Junior League of The Woodlands providing much needed funding for thousands of community services. Learn More

April 5 & 6 – MCFA Official 2019 Bud Light BBQ Cook-Off – 150+ teams will be competing for the Montgomery County Fair Association Barbecue Cook-Off Championship. Shuttle Buses will run on Friday and Saturday of the Cookoff from Sam’s on Loop 336 and I-45 and the Outlet Mall at I-45 and League Line Road. Awards are given for Brisket, Ribs, Chicken and Pulled Pork categories. Teams participate in special events such as Outhouse Races, Most Congenial Team, Best Dressed Port-a-can, Most Colorful and Most Imaginative Team. The annual Horseshoe Pitching Contest and Washer Pitching Contests are held, in addition to the Cornhole Tournament. Learn More

April 5-7 – “Stage Door” Theatre Performance – The Black Box Theatre is the perfect venue to step back in time to New York City in the 1930s, where a group of young women live together at the Footlights Club, a boarding house for aspiring stage actresses and artists. The spring drama, STAGE DOOR, shares the story of their lives as they navigate the ups and downs of auditioning and the acting business, the men that come in and out their lives and the relationships that result. It is an amusing and, upbeat look at their journey in the theatre and art world steeped in the glamour of the 1930s. Learn More

April 6 – “Just for J” 5k Benefiting Memorial Hermann NICU – 100% of the proceeds of this 5K/1M Fun Run on April 6th at Northshore Park will go to Memorial Hermann NICU with the main goal of purchasing a new transport isolette to safely life-flight babies in our community for life saving care. This event will honor all NICU graduates and NICU angel babies. Register Here

April 6 – Muddy Trails Bash – The 12th annual Muddy Trails Bash will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at Rob Fleming Park from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department, the USA Track and Field sanctioned event features chip-timed 5K and 10K trail runs, the Little Muddy Kids’ One-Mile Fun Run and a 2K-9 Fun Run for you and your dog. The festive post-race party includes live zydeco music, the Muddy Bowl Crawfish Cook-Off and children’s activities. Concessions will be available for purchase. Learn More

April 6 – Night of Hope Gala – The Night of Hope gala will benefit children in foster care who have been abused, abandoned and neglected through the nonprofit Love Fosters Hope. Derek Clark, survivor and author will be the inspirational speaker for the evening. Christina Wells gained national stardom as a semi-finalist on America’s Got Talent. Guests at the gala will enjoy a powerful performance by Christina Wells, dinner, dancing, an exciting silent auction and raffle. Learn More

April 6 & 7 – Texas Wine & Art Festival – Come and enjoy the music, food, wines and the art! Texas wineries will offer old favorites as well as new wines for sampling and purchasing. Talented Texas artists will showcase their creative art in photography, clothing, hand-made jewelry, paintings, and crafts. You will also enjoy gourmet foods and sauces. This two-day event is held at the west entrance to Old Town Spring. Learn More

April 12 – Art Dash & Preview Party – Mingle with The Woodlands Waterway Arts Festival Artists and DASH for art in the famous 60-second Art Dash! There will be live entertainment, delicious small bites, drinks, and more. This fundraiser benefits the community and education outreach programs of The Woodlands Arts Council. April 13 – Montgomery County Food Bank’s “Food for Life” Gala – As its major fundraising event to benefit the food insecure in our local community, the Montgomery County Food Bank will host its 3rd Annual “Food For Life” gala on Saturday, April 13 at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. This year’s theme is “Havana Nights” celebrating A Giving Community. This night of fun includes a live auction, silent auction, raffle opportunities, dancing, and dinner. Learn More

April 13 – The Woodlands Methodist School 5K – Join The Woodlands Methodist School for a 5K on Saturday, April 13th at 9:00 am at The Woodlands United Methodist Church Campus. The Woodlands Methodist School 5K will focus on family health and having fun in a safe environment. Families with strollers are welcome and a Family Fun Zone is available until noon. The 5K will benefit The Woodlands United Methodist Church and school. Learn More

April 13 – Shenandoah’s Easter Egg Hunt – Calling all the Shenandoah kids for a date with the Easter Bunny. Come early because the hunt starts at 10:00 a.m. and doesn’t last long! Join us for an egg hunt, refreshments, Bunny & Me pictures, and fun at this annual event hosted by the Shenandoah Civic Club.Egg hunt is the first event and goes VERY quickly. Six divisions: Gentle Touch (special needs and 0-2), 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12. Be there by 9:45 am to be ready for the hunt at 10 am. Learn More

April 16 – Aerial Arts Demonstration – Come enjoy an aerial arts demonstration from 6:00 – 6:45 p.m at the Glenn Performing Arts Center Courtyard at The John Cooper School! This event is open to the public and is part of The John Cooper School’s Fine Arts Festival. Learn More

April 23 – Nest for Newbies Breast Cancer Support Group – The Nest for Newbies, a breast cancer support group, is a safe haven for women who have been newly diagnosed with breast cancer. This is a five month program, held once a month at 12:00 p.m. with a different topic each time. The topic for this meeting is Coping Strategies. We will learn from one another and give encouragement. April 19 & 20 – EggTivities at The Woodlands Children’s Museum – During EggTivities, children will delight in creating a bunny mask, dying eggs and embellishing egg carton baskets or a bunny box to carry their egg-cellent creations. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture photos of their children with the Easter Bunny, who also will be at the museum during EggTivities. Recommended for ages 7 and under. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Learn More

April 26 – 11th Annual Tea on the Lawn – Join the fashion and fun at the 11th Annual Tea on the Lawn benefitting New Danville on Friday, April 26th at Madera Estates in Conroe. The marketplace will open at 10:00 am and the luncheon will begin promptly at 12:00. The special guest speaker will be LaDonna Gatlin, who performed with her famous brothers the Gatlin Brothers. April 27 – Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas – The 2019 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Texas North American Championship offers 80 qualifying slots to the 2019 IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. Learn More

April 27 – World Tai Chi Day – This free community event is presented by Woodlands Tai Chi Practice Group and is open to everyone. There will be demonstrations and mini lessons. April 27 – Prescription Drug Take Back Day – The Woodlands Township Neighborhood Watch will host a National Prescription Drug Take Back Day drop-off location at The Woodlands Township Town Hall front parking lot. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will collect unwanted medications at the site for safe disposal by the DEA. The DEA cannot accept needles or sharps at this event. This is a free and anonymous service; medications will only be accepted during the event hours and may not be dropped off before or after the event. Learn More

April 30 – Community Job Fair – The Community Job Fair is an annual job fair event showcasing area employees looking to expand their business and hire applicants from the community presented by the Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce. This event is free and open to the public and features seminars on interviewing skills, resume tips and social media practices. No registration is necessary. Learn More
