Forest Park The Woodlands to host 17th Annual Memorial Day “Tribute to Heroes and Freedom” Event on May 26
Forest Park The Woodlands is hosting the 17th Annual Memorial Day “Tribute to Heroes and Freedom” on Monday, May 26 starting at 10:00am. The park is located at 18000 Interstate 45 South in The Woodlands. This is a free community event to include an invocation by County Judge Mark Keough, a Presentation of the Colors, a Wreath Ceremony, patriotic music, and special guest speaker, Kristofer Healy with words of remembrance for those who served our country.
Kristofer Healey is a former federal law enforcement officer with both ICE and Department of Homeland Security Office of Inspector General, a former DHS Special Agent who spent more than 15 years in federal law enforcement directing large scale, multi-defendant fraud and public corruption investigations domestically and overseas, and he spent over a decade on the border fighting cartel crime and corruption, investigating and arresting hundreds of dangerous criminals.
Kelley Peters will sing “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood, accompanied by pianist Felix Lyons. After the ceremony attendees are invited to enjoy food catered by Honor Cafe at no charge.
Prior to the scheduled event, volunteers from American Heritage Girls and Boy Scouts of America Troops 777, Girls Troop 1777, Cub Scout Pack 777, Venturing Crew 112, Young Men’s Service League – The Oaks, and other local volunteers will assist with placing individual flags on the gravesites of Veterans. Visitors can view the graves of over 500 veterans at Forest Park marked by these flags.
The tribute service is an opportunity for everyone to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day- honoring the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. The tribute service sets the tone for a day filled with gratitude as a reminder to be considerate of the freedoms we all enjoy.

“I love to see the community come together for this event. Everyone looks forward to it and we are honored to be able to host every year,” said Clint Hebert, General Manager at Forest Park The Woodlands. “I am equally proud of our staff – they work so hard to put this event together for our community. The Memorial Day Service is another way we serve families in our area, and that is what we do best.”.
