August 2022 – Classes and Programs at Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center – Canopy is open for classes and programs! Canopy is a cancer survivorship on the campus of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center. Canopy is open to men and women, no matter where you were treated, and for any kind of cancer. If your life has been impacted, whether you were the patient or the caregiver, you have a safe haven at Canopy. Events are virtual, in person, and hybrid, and include Yoga, Breast Cancer Support Group, The Keyes Ingredients healthy nutrition class, Gentle Barre, Bible Study, and more! Learn More

August 2022 – Live Music at Como Social Club – Como Social Club features live music and amazing cocktails Thursday through Saturday nights. - Sunday, August 14 – Rayford Sunday Market – The Rayford Sunday Market is held at Imperial Oaks Shopping Center twice a month from 11am to 4pm with food, fun and shopping! Learn More
- Saturday, August 20 – Margaritaville Artisans Market – Make your way over to Margaritaville Lake Resort, Lake Conroe and shop until you drop! Over a dozen local artisans and vendors will set up booths and sell their creations in Palm Court outside the resort lobby. Don’t miss out on this seasonal event! August 1, 2022 – Back to School Kidsfest – Society of Samaritans is hosting a free back to school Kidsfest from 10 am to 1 pm at the West Montgomery County Community Center with free backpacks, school supplies, food, clothing, health screening, haircuts, games, crafts, and prizes. Learn More
August 1, 2022 – Family Game Night – Family Game Night at South County Library is fun for all ages! Snacks and board games provided. Family Game Night is held from 5:30 to 7:00 pm the first Monday of the month in the Large Meeting Room. Prior registration is required for this program. Learn More
August 1 – September 5, 2022 – Houston Restaurant Weeks – This charity dining extravaganza features specially priced lunches, brunches and dinners at restaurants from The Woodlands to Galveston. Participating restaurants make donations based upon how many brunches, lunches and dinners they sell during the event; diners are not solicited for donations. Houston Restaurant Weeks is the largest annual fundraiser for America’s largest food bank, the Houston Food Bank. Learn More
August 2, 2022 – Isaac Conroe Founder’s Day – Isaac Conroe Founder’s Day will be held from 6:00-8:00pm at the City of Conroe Connection Transportation Services at 202 Ave. A. This is a free event with elected officials, period costumed docents from the 1800’s, cannons, and descendants of Isaac Conroe. There will be an Isaac Conroe Look Alike Contest with a cash prize. July 26 – September 13, 2022 – Free Tai Chi for Adults Ages 60+ – Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital will host an 8-week Tai Chi class for adults ages 60 and above. Tai Chi is a very gentle form of movement that results in increased strength and balance, improved circulation, decreased stress, and a multitude of other health benefits. This is a perfect class for beginners and will help reduce fall risk and fear of falling. August 3, 2022 – Family Movie Night – Join us for a Family Movie Night at Creekside Park Village Green from 6:30–10 pm. The movie playing August 3 is Clifford. A DJ will be playing music from 6:30–8:30 pm. Movies start at 8:30 pm. Don’t forget to bring blankets and lawn chairs! Learn More
August 4 & 11, 2022 – Rock the Row – Experience Hughes Landing on scenic Lake Woodlands with live music Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m.! Rock the Row features local and regional bands playing a variety of favorites from pop and rock to country during the summer and fall. Walkin’ the Line (A Tribute to Johnny Cash) will be playing August 4, and 100 Proof (Variety) will be playing August 11. Coolers, picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs are permitted. Learn More
August 5, 2022 – Beats & Keys with DJ T. Gray & Alex Navarro – Glade Arts Foundation presents a unique pairing of two leading local artists. DJ T. Gray, a mainstay on the Houston music scene, has built a southern following that continues its rapid growth with the release of his first instrumental album, The Gray Tape Vol. 1. Pianist Alex Navarro, is a first call jazz and theatre musician in the Houston Area with credits from his time in LA and NYC that include Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Queen Latifah and Sara Bareilles. Together, they revisit an acoustic/electronic collaboration they have explored at venues in EADO and in downtown, fusing jazz, neo-soul and electronica. August 5, 2022 – Glow Crazy! Nighttime Aerial Adventure Climb – Take a family night to new heights at Texas TreeVentures with a 3-hour climb while watching the sunset at Glow Crazy! August 12-14, 2022 – Escape Velocity: Dance, Design, A.I. – NobleMotion Dance performs Escape Velocity: Dance, Design, A.I., an immersive evening of daring jungle gym choreography that premieres at the Glade Arts Foundation in The Woodlands, Texas August 12-14. NobleMotion has partnered with industrial artist Jared Doster, A.I. projection designer Jeremy Stewart, and photographer Lynn Lane to create a one-hour journey that transports the audience throughout the gallery. Doster’s climbable sculptures allow the dancers to vault, swing, and flip. Learn More
August 13, 2022 – YMCA Youth Duathlon – The 1st Annual YMCA Youth Duathlon, presented by Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands, is the third race of the new Summer Race Series. The event will be held at The Holcomb Family YMCA and is open to all skill levels, ages 7-15 on race day. The Run/Ride/Run will take place on the trails near Lake Holcomb. Learn More

August 15, 2022 – Café con Miguel – If you own a business or are considering starting one, Miguel Lopez of Conganas LLC invites you to join him and other business owners and entrepreneurs for relevant small business discussions over coffee. August 18, 2022 – Education for Tomorrow Alliance Trivia Night – It’s trivia time! Mark your calendars for Education for Tomorrow Alliance’s 10th Annual Trivia Night at Dosey Doe! It’s an evening of brain-busting fun and friendly competition where guests will be challenged with trivia ranging from biology to pop culture. Each team will attempt to demonstrate their mastery of trivial knowledge in pursuit of the coveted Smarties Cup. Doors open at 6:00 pm and trivia begins at 7:00 pm. Ages 21 and up are welcome. August 18, 2022 – Abstract Dervishes Art Show Opening Reception – The Woodlands Art Gallery and Studios presents Artist EP Chiles with an Opening Reception for Abstract Dervishes Et Al. on Thursday, August 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. The opening reception will include refreshments and a talk from EP Chiles. August 20, 2022 – Artreach for Freedom Gala – Join Hands of Justice for the 4th annual Artreach for Freedom Gala. August 25, 2022 – Montgomery County Community Foundation’s Shoot Out – Get ready for hunting season with the annual Montgomery County Community Foundation’s Shoot Out. Teams of 4 compete for bragging rights as winners of this multi-stationed sporting clays competition. Beer, wine and appetizers are served as shooters and guests arrive at 6:00 pm with dinner served shortly after that. Raffle and a live auction are part of the program. August 24, 2022 – Car Seat Safety Check – The Spring Fire Department partners monthly with Safe Kids Greater Houston to bring Child Passenger Safety Techs to a Spring Fire Station to check car seats. Even when preventable injuries like car accidents are the leading cause of child deaths, one of every five car seats we check are not properly installed when they arrive – but are safe when they leave. August 26, 2022 – Free Pet Microchip and Vaccination Day – Spring Fire Departments’s third Free Pet Microchip and Vaccination Day will be in the bay of Spring Fire Station 74 from 9 am – noon. The first 50 cats and dogs will receive their shots and a microchip at no cost. Pets and their humans must resident in unincorporated Harris County. Learn More

August 28, 2022 – Overdose Awareness Day Event – The free community event to honor Overdose Awareness Day will be held on Sunday, August 28 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Loft Worship Center at The Woodlands Methodist Church. The event will have Local Addiction/Mental Health resources, Narcan training, Speakers, Texas Memorial Walkway in honor of those lost due to an overdose or a drug/alcohol related death, Light dinner, and Balloon Release (all biodegradable). PET OF THE MONTH
Hello Woodlands, in partnership with Operation Pets Alive, highlights a “Pet of the Month” that features a local dog or cat available for foster and/or adoption in Montgomery County, Texas. Operation Pets Alive is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters, and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive.
