January 2024 – Classes and Events at Ardest Gallery – Ardest Gallery, a local fine arts gallery curated by Gallery Director Julie Verville, represents nearly 40, top Texas 2D and 3D visual artists. In addition to its core artists, the gallery will host ongoing events such as monthly group art shows, Coffee Talk with an Artist, Art to Lunch in partnership with local restaurants, poetry readings, musical performances, and art classes/workshops for all ages and skill levels. January 25, 2024 – Taste of the Town – The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce presents Taste of the Town, a paradise for foodies looking to fulfill their cravings and sample local area cuisine! Global, national and local speakers address attendees on the economy, trends and growth. Purchase tickets to the Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope Gala – Montgomery County Food Bank’s Fighting Hunger, Feeding Hope Gala, presented by Woodforest National Bank, will take place Saturday, Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 6 to 11 p.m. at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. The premier fundraising event’s proceeds will benefit Montgomery County Food Bank and the food insecure children, families, and seniors we serve.   • First Saturday of the month – Lone Star 1st Saturday – Venture down to Lone Star 1st Saturday – where everything is homemade, handmade, or homegrown. Now – January 15, 2024 – The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center – The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center, located near the north gate entry of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion and the intersection of Lake Robbins Drive and Six Pines Drive, features ice skating in a main room with lighting, a state-of-the-art sound system, tables for parties and concessions. January 11, 2024 – The Pavilion Partners Fine Arts Scholarship Program Application Deadline – Part of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s mission is to provide support to young artists as they pursue college degrees in the arts. The Pavilion Partners Fine Arts Scholarship Program has awarded over $2.5 million in fine arts scholarships to local students. Applications are now being accepted for the 2024 Fine Arts Scholarship Program! Application deadline is January 11, 2024. January 15, 2024 – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Celebration – The 35th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Celebration will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at noon at The Woodlands Methodist Church. The annual free public celebration is a longtime event that was started by Impact Church of The Woodlands and is still hosted by the church today every year at The Woodlands Methodist Church. Read about last year’s event here.

January 18, 2024 – “Anatomy of Landscape Paintings” Opening Reception – Join us on Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 5 to 8pm for the Opening Reception of “Anatomy of Landscape Paintings” Art Show featuring art by EP Chiles at The Woodlands Art Gallery & Studios located at 208 Nursery Rd. January 19 – February 24, 2024 – Education for Tomorrow Alliance’s SCI://TECH Exposition – Education for Tomorrow Alliance engages the business community with local private and public schools, offering 13 science, technology, engineering, and math competitions and events. SCI://TECH spans several weekends starting January 19. Some events are open to the public, including the Huntsman Elementary Science Festival which highlights hands-on experiments and family fun. January 20, 2024 – January Car Show at Grace – Join Grace Woodlands for their Free Car Show on Saturday, January 20th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Bring your family, invite your friends and enjoy a great morning of incredible cars and community. Everyone that loves cars or has a car to show is welcome. There is no entry fee and a cash prize of $200 will be awarded for Best Muscle, Best Classic and Best Exotic cars or trucks. January 20, 2024 – Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce Chairman’s Ball – Join the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce in honoring the 2023 Chairman of the Board, Nick Davis, for his dedicated service to the Chamber and community. The program will include award presentations and a “passing of the gavel” ceremony to incoming Chairman, Jennifer Millington. Dinner, dancing and casino games will make for an unforgettable evening! January 26 – Human Trafficking Collaborative Educational Summit – Hands of Justice presents the 4th annual Human Trafficking Collaborative Educational Summit on January 26, 2024 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Restoration Church Woodforest in Montgomery. There will be several expert speakers within the field and the one day intensive counts as CEU’s for those that need them. You will also hear from Overcomers in your community, learn how you can get involved, and walk away equipped in helping make a difference. January 27, 2024 – 48th Arbor Day Tree Giveaway – The Arbor Day Tree Giveaway is one of The Woodlands longest standing traditions where residents receive free seedlings to help plant trees today for our community to enjoy for years to come. This year 12 NEW native tree seedlings will be available. This is a FREE event for residents of The Woodlands. The event will be held from 9:00am – noon at Rob Fleming Park. Learn More

PET OF THE MONTH

Hello Woodlands, in partnership with Operation Pets Alive, highlights a “Pet of the Month” that features a local dog or cat available for foster and/or adoption in Montgomery County, Texas. Operation Pets Alive is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters, and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive.
