Honor a Veteran with a Granite Memorial Tile at ‘The Way Home’ Monument in Town Green Park
Honor a family member or friend who has served in the U.S. Armed Forces with an engraved granite memorial tile at “The Way Home” Veterans Memorial Monument in Town Green Park.
Located at 2099 Lake Robbins Drive, The Way Home is a permanent memorial honoring active-duty service members and veterans (living or deceased), from every branch of the U.S. military and all conflicts. The centerpiece sculpture, created by local sculptor Edd Hayes, features life-size figures representing two young Woodlands-area residents who gave their lives in service to their country: Army PFC Cory C. Kosters, who died in Iraq on March 5, 2007, and Army CPL Zach R. Endsley, who died in Afghanistan in July 2008. Situated along the east edge of the Great Lawn beneath the backdrop of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, The Way Home and its Walk of Honor were officially dedicated on Memorial Day, May 25, 2015.
The Walk of Honor at The Way Home Memorial provides an opportunity to create a lasting tribute to a veteran or active-duty service member through an engraved granite memorial tile. More than 700 black granite tiles have been placed as part of the Walk of Honor, recognizing those who have served. Memorial tiles are available for purchase through The Woodlands Township and will be inscribed and installed twice each year, prior to Memorial Day and Veterans Day. The cost of each granite tile includes the engraving and installation, giving families and friends a meaningful way to create a lasting tribute to a veteran or active-duty service member.
Each tile becomes a permanent part of “The Way Home” Veterans Memorial Monument, helping ensure that the honoree’s service, sacrifice and dedication to our nation are remembered and honored for generations to come. More information is available at thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov/thewayhome.
