Local Favorite Cheesecake in Montgomery County
To the inventor of Cheesecake, the genius person that put together a mixture of soft cream cheese, eggs, and sugar and a crust made from crushed cookies or graham crackers, we thank you. What is truly funny is the cheesecake is not a cake; it’s technically a baked cheese custard pie with a crust.
Two big cities for cheesecakes are New York with their famous New York Style and Chicago with Eli’s gourmet cheesecakes since 1980. Nick’s Local Eats (Facebook group) had a month long poll and learned that we have some outstanding establishments for cheesecakes right here in Montgomery County, Spring and Tomball.
One place that highly ranked in the poll boasts that they have 50+ different flavors of cheesecakes. Red Top Bakery in Spring, TX is growing fans by the day, with their gourmet cheesecakes. Most popular flavors being Original Plain, Lemon Blueberry, Chocolate, Key Lime, Turtle & Oreo, introduced this month is also Pumpkin Maple.

Caroline’s Kitchen – Home of Tamale Magic and the newly opened Caroline’s – A Healthy Eatery are doing something completely different and making cheesecakes Keto. Both produce Gluten Free and Sugar Free Cheesecake that is almost indistinguishable from a traditional Sugar and Gluten laden cake. Caroline creates many different flavors and styles of crusts plus a Baked NY style as well as a non baked version.

One more place that did very well in the fan voted poll was The Hidden Gem Diner in Willis, TX. Featuring rotating flavors of cheesecakes like Thats the Rocky road cheesecake, Oreo crust, milk chocolate filling with marshmallows, walnuts, chocolate drizzle and Cherry Limeade cheesecake.
