October 2022 – Classes and Programs at Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center – Canopy is a cancer survivorship on the campus of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center. Canopy is open to men and women, no matter where you were treated, and for any kind of cancer. If your life has been impacted, whether you were the patient or the caregiver, you have a safe haven at Canopy. October 1, 2022 – Creekside Park West Fall Festival – It’s Fall Y’all, Let’s Celebrate! October 7, 2022 – Free “Storytelling for Business” Seminar – The Sam Houston State University Small Business Development Center (SHSU SBDC) is hosting a free seminar with Jennifer Bruse, Hello Woodlands President & CEO, award winning videographer, journalist, and writer, geared at teaching small business owners how to tell their story through content marketing and connect with the media and their local community in order to reach target customers. In the Storytelling for Business Seminar, Jennifer Bruse will present proven methods and strategies on how small business owners can share their story to reach their community, local media, and target customers. More than 100 small business entrepreneurs will be showcasing unique jewelry, boutique clothing, art, gourmet food, furniture, decorations and more. October 23, 2022 – Cochran’s Crossing Fall Festival – The Cochran’s Crossing Village Association’s annual Fall Festival will feature food, live music, a petting zoo, a rock wall, a trackless train, fall photo ops, professional face painting, carnival games, bounce houses, live performances, crafts, vendors, and more! October 1, 2022 GRUB-A-THON – HOPE Haven presents GRUB-A-THON featuring food trucks, an eating competition, music, exclusive VIP section, and more in downtown Conroe from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. All proceeds from the event will benefit HOPE Haven, a nonprofit organization which was formed to fill in the gaps and gray areas in the current system meant to support those experiencing homelessness. October 2, 2022 – National Night Out Neighborhood Parties – Lock your doors and spend the afternoon outside with your neighbors in celebration of National Night Out in The Woodlands! National Night Out is a great opportunity to get to know your neighbors and support local crime prevention efforts. October 6 & 7, 2022 – Lobsterfest – Join the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce for the annual Lobsterfest fundraiser, presented by Woodforest National Bank. More than 1,000 community leaders, business owners, elected officials, residents, and guests attend the two-day festivities including a steak and lobster dinner, live and silent auction, and lots of fun on Thursday, October 6 followed by a golf tournament on Friday, October 7. October 7, 2022 World Habitat Day Wall Build – Habitat for Humanity will join other affiliates around the world to rededicate ourselves to recognizing the basic right of everyone to have adequate shelter. October 8, 2022 – Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas – The annual Memorial Hermann 10 for Texas race is set for 7 to 11 a.m. at Northshore Park. The USATF-sanctioned event offers a certified 10-mile course, plus the 3.1 Armadillo Run 5K and One 4 Texas Kids’ Fun Run. After the race, participants can refuel and celebrate at the Texas-sized post-race party, featuring great food, beverages and live country music. Learn More

October 8, 2022 Jeans & Jewels Concert – The Jeans & Jewels benefit concert features Grammy nominated and CMA award winning country music group LONESTAR at Dosey Doe – The Big Barn starting at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy great music while supporting your neighbors in need! The concert benefits Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM), a nonprofit, community-based, multi-program social service agency that strives to meet basic human needs through Neighbors Helping Neighbors. The 2022 Lamborghini Festival Block Party will be held at Market Street in The Woodlands from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This event is free to the public for spectators. The festival benefits Arrow Child & Family Ministries, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that works to help kids and strengthen families. October 14, 2022 – Memorial Hermann In Pink of Health Luncheon – Memorial Hermann In Pink of Health changes lives by raising funds to reduce the incidence of breast and ovarian cancer and assist survivors in their journey. The luxury event features a champagne reception, luxury raffle, silent auction, pink boutique and more. The guest speaker is Jennifer Griffin, breast cancer survivor and Pentagon-based National Security Correspondent for the Fox News Channel. October 16, 2022 – Howl-O-Ween Festival – Get ready to “howl” for a great cause! Join Operation Pets Alive as Northshore Park is transformed into a PAWS-itively awesome Howl-O-Ween fall festival! Dozens of ghouls and furry monsters (adoptable homeless pets of Operation Pets Alive! and Friends of Faye) will be in attendance to scare you out of your senses with mega sweetness and puppy kisses! Funds raised during the event will benefit Operation Pets Alive! and Friends of Faye, both of which are 501(c)(3) non-profits, all-volunteer run animal rescue organizations. Learn More

October 22, 2022 – Halloween at the Y – Halloween at the Y is a free family fun event featuring trick or treat stops, carnival type games, concessions, t-shirts, and more, from 3:00 – 5:00pm. This community event is for all ages. Bring a friend and wear your costumes! Halloween at the Y is held outdoors at Shadowbend YMCA, 6145 Shadowbend Place in The Woodlands. October 29, 2022 – The Taste of the Village – Indian Springs’ Taste of the Village draws thousands of local residents and showcases products and services from local businesses. The event is free and features delicious samples from a variety of food vendors as well as entertainers, stage shows, bouncy houses, several raffle prizes, and public safety/community service representatives. October 29, 2022 – Glow and Go 5K – New for 2022, the Township introduces the first annual Glow and Go 5K  beginning at 7 p.m. along The Woodlands Waterway. The chip-timed 5K course will incorporate the full length of the scenic Woodlands Waterway. Participants are encouraged to dress in their best glow costumes in the spirit of Halloween! The race will be sanctioned by USATF and is open to runners of all levels ages 10 and up. Learn More





Hello Woodlands, in partnership with Operation Pets Alive, highlights a “Pet of the Month” that features a local dog or cat available for foster and/or adoption in Montgomery County, Texas. Operation Pets Alive is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters, and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive.
