Star-Studded Field Taking Shape for 20th Anniversary of Insperity Invitational in The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX—With one week remaining until the field will be confirmed for the 20th playing of the Insperity Invitational presented by UnitedHealthcare, tournament officials announced this year’s tee sheet will include seven World Golf Hall of Famers along with every player in the top 30 on the PGA TOUR Champions’ 2022 Charles Schwab Cup Money List.

The legendary line up for the award-winning event is headlined by the following World Golf Hall of Famers including: Ernie Els; Retief Goosen; Vijay Singh; Mark O’Meara; Colin Montgomerie; José María Olazábal; and four-time Insperity Invitational winner Bernhard Langer.

“It is definitely nice to have won this event four times. This tournament has a special place in my heart. It was my first victory out here on the PGA TOUR Champions in 2007, and it is just a fantastic event all around,” said Langer, who is tied with Hale Irwin with most wins all-time on the PGA TOUR Champions at 45.  “When they decided to make this event an Invitational, it really went to a different level. It’s a great golf course, great venue and an extremely well-run event. I am looking forward to getting back out there.”

Every name in the top-30 from the 2022 Charles Schwab Cup Money List will also be on this year’s tee sheet. The distinguished list of the game’s most accomplished players also includes:

Five additional major winners on the PGA TOUR will also battle for the coveted 20th title in Insperity Invitational history. Justin Leonard, who won the 1997 British Open and is the top rookie on the PGA TOUR Champions will make his first trip to The Woodlands. Two-time major winner and 2017 Insperity Invitational champ, John Daly, will also be back in southern Texas with British Open winner, Tom Lehman, and former U.S. Open title holder, Corey Pavin. Former Masters champion, Mike Weir, will battle for his second Insperity Invitational title.
