Woodlands Community Prayer Breakfast

The Kiwanis Club of The Woodlands invites you to the 37th Woodlands Community Prayer Breakfast. As a worldwide organization of many faiths, The Kiwanis Club believes in the power of prayer and the positive impact of community involvement.

This year’s keynote speaker is Mr. Terry Weaver, a well-known actor, author, veteran, and leader. Terry’s latest project is Breaking Strongholds, a faith-based streaming mystery drama series. Terry is a US Navy Veteran who served as a combat Corpsman with the US Marines. He graduated from Texas A&M Mays School of Business as a Tillman Scholar. In 2014, Terry founded VEL Institute and, in 2019, authored The Evolution of A Leader. Terry is based right here in Montgomery County. Empty Bowls

All are welcome to join The John Cooper School for Empty Bowls on Saturday, April 22 from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm in the Sims Student Center for activities and crafts, a silent auction, and a light lunch. Empty Bowls is a grassroots movement by artists and crafts people in cities and towns around the world to raise money and awareness for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in their communities. Handmade bowls and art will be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit The Woodlands Interfaith Food Pantry. Learn More

2023 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Triathlon

The 2023 Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Americas Championship Texas triathlon, part of the VinFast IRONMAN U.S. Series, is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 22, 2023. The 2.4-mile swim will take place in Lake Woodlands. Once athletes exit the water, they will begin the 112-mile bike from The Woodlands to Northern Harris County with two loops on the Hardy Toll Road. Once off the bike, athletes will start their 26.2-mile, three-lap run on one of the most spirited run courses on the circuit thanks to an incredible spectator base. This is best exhibited by Hippie Hollow, an area with tie-die banners, twinkling lights, and costumed performers that becomes even more magical after the sun sets.
