September 2022 – Classes and Programs at Canopy Cancer Survivorship Center – Canopy is a cancer survivorship on the campus of Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Medical Center. Canopy is open to men and women, no matter where you were treated, and for any kind of cancer. If your life has been impacted, whether you were the patient or the caregiver, you have a safe haven at Canopy. September 16, 2022 – Digital Marketing Boot Camp – SHSU Small Business Development Center is hosting a free seminar with Jennifer Bruse, Hello Woodlands President & CEO and Digital Marketing expert, geared at helping small business owners learn how to promote and market their business using digital marketing. In the Digital Marketing Boot Camp, Jennifer Bruse will present proven approaches and strategies on how small business owners can get their digital marketing plan “in shape” to reach their target audience and customers. The SHSU SBDC is committed to helping small businesses start, grow, expand, and succeed. September 29 – October 2, 2022 – YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge – Join us for the 23rd Annual YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge Event presented by Repsol, rowing for a CAUSE September 29 – October 2, 2022 at Northshore Park and Lake Woodlands! The YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge is an event designed to build community spirit among corporations, civic groups and community organizations. The activities are designed to bring individuals together to achieve a single goal – TO HAVE FUN! They achieve this by becoming a team and working together as a synchronized unit. It’s much more than “beating the other team.” It’s the camaraderie, visiting and playing with old friends, meeting new friends, working hard and feeling good about it. September 3, 2022 – GreenUp: Fall Sweep – Help keep The Woodlands looking clean and green. Join GreenUp: Fall Sweep, a Township-wide litter cleanup day! GreenUp: Fall Sweep is a self-guided volunteer one-day volunteer opportunity for individuals and family groups to target litter along pathways, waterways and natural areas. September 10, 2022 – Kids Day in the Park – Kids Day in the Park is a FREE event at Carl Barton, Jr. Baseball Field held in conjunction with the City of Conroe Kid Fish. There will be moonwalks, a rock wall, trackless train, pony rides, petting zoo and emergency vehicles for the kids to view. Kids Day in the Park is presented by the Conroe Noon Kiwanis Club. September 3, 2022 – Cars & Coffee Family Friendly Car Show – Open to the public and free of charge, the family-friendly Cars & Coffee series integrates four, three and two-wheel motor bikes, cars and trucks in a lively automobile showcase at north Houston’s City Place from 10 am to noon. Cars & Coffee brings together fans, families, friends and community members in a laid-back affair with no revving, burnouts or loud music. September 4, 2022 – Labor Day in The Woodlands – Relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor at Waterway Square from 5 to 9 p.m. with live music, children’s activities, strolling entertainment, pie eating contests and fireworks! September 10, 2022 – Run for Hope – The 2022 Run for Hope is a 10K & 5K chipped-timed race, and 1-mile fun run/walk at the Woodlands Waterway benefitting Love Fosters Hope. Every participant receives a T-shirt, participant medals, breakfast, fun, and games for the kids! 100% of proceeds will go directly to fund Love Fosters Hope’s programs that support children and teens in foster care. September 10, 2022 – Village Books One Year Anniversary Celebration – Village Books, the community-focused independent bookstore in The Woodlands, will be celebrating its one year anniversary. September 10, 2022 – The Lazy River 5k Run/Walk – The Lazy River 5k Run/Walk is anything but LAZY! At the 1st ever Lazy River 5K, go against the current for 3.11 miles (11 laps equals 1 mile) at the Rob Fleming Aquatic Center. September 11, 2022 – Patriot Day of Remembrance – Please join The Woodlands Township for a ceremony to honor the brave men and women who tragically lost their lives during the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. September 16, 2022 – Shootout Hunger – Shootout Hunger raises awareness and funds to help provide food for hungry children, families, and seniors in Montgomery County. Montgomery County Food Bank encourages both shooters and non-shooters to attend the event. September 17, 2022 – Pirate ‘n Mermaid Day – Board The Woodlands Children’s Museum’s version of the Jolly Roger and keep a close eye out for treasure and mermaids! September 17, 2022 – Denim & Diamonds Gala – Inspiration Ranch is a place of hope where dedicated staff and volunteers work to improve lives through equine-assisted activities and therapies. All proceeds from the gala directly support the scholarships at Inspiration Ranch to help children overcome physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges and reach new goals by using one of God’s remarkable gifts, the horse. September 17, 2022 – Boots vs. Badges Softball Game – In celebration of National Night Out, come out and cheer on your local public safety personnel! September 30, 2022 – The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon – The Chamber’s annual luncheon recognizes retiring Board of Directors, Team Leaders and member anniversaries. In addition, the Diplomat of the Year will be recognized. Through member nominations, The Chamber will announce those individuals selected as: Community Citizen of the Year, Chamber Volunteer of the Year, and Top Influencer Under 40. Additional specialty awards will also be unveiled for the Chairman’s Award and Legacy Award. Hello Woodlands, in partnership with Operation Pets Alive, highlights a “Pet of the Month” that features a local dog or cat available for foster and/or adoption in Montgomery County, Texas. Operation Pets Alive is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization striving to elevate Montgomery County to a No-Kill community through innovative programs that raise community awareness, reduce the number of dogs and cats that enter our shelters, and increase the number of dogs and cats that leave our shelters alive.
